Plastic Ammo Boxes??

giggitygiggity I don't know where you are buying your Plano boxes but you can buy 2 for $5

When I first started reloading many years ago, I bought and used the plastic boxes to put my reloads in. They sure looked purty sitting on my shelves! But, after arriving at the loads I liked, I just started putting the reloads into 30cal ammo cans in bulk. When I go out to shoot, I grab the ammo cans and go. When they start to feel light, I know it's time to fill them up again. I still use the plastic boxes whenever I just want to run out and pop off a few, just fill them out of the can and go.

Frankford Arsenal that I get from Midway. Many sizes, different colors so I can differentiate between different loads of the same calibre.

Mostly MTM but also Frankford Arsenal, full length plastic hinges.
MTM has their factory here in southwestern Ohio, so I try to support the locals. :) And I haven't had any defect issues yet.

MTM boxes with hinge or slip top that I bought at Academy. I also have old style, Plano and a couple of the new style, Plano, which I also purchased from from Academy.

I have several 100 round MTM case guard plastic boxes for my .44 Mag rounds. I set a full box of 240 gr. rounds on a stool about 18" above the concrete floor. Of course the box fell off the stool and landed on the floor. The hinge ripped loose about 2/3 the way across and spilled all the rounds on the floor. Up until then I hadn't had any issues with the MTM cases. Actually I still don't. 100 rounds of 240 gr. .44 Mag ammo is HEAVY.

So the moral of my story is, that they work fine until you drop a loaded box, but Gorilla tape will make it like new again.:):D

PS. I also use Midway's foam inner tray with their cardboard outer box. They are a lot less noisy than the plastic cases.
