Browning Auto 5 date/value help please

I have a friend who is in advanced years and is trying to put a hard value on all his guns so that his family knows what they are worth. HIs wife will probly want to sell some of them to help with expenses and he dosnt want her to have to trust some gun dealer when the time comes. I have been able to find a good fair market value for most of his guns already, but 2 are giving me trouble. Below is all the information he has given me. He tells me both guns have never been out of the box and are unfired...I have no reason to beleave otherwise. I tryed using the chart on Brownings website, but couldnt make heads nor tails.

Try looking at gunbroker.com to get an idea of value. Also gunsamerica.com. These sights show what folks are asking and you can see on gunbroker if any of them are getting bids. Seeing actuall bids gives a good idea of what people are paying for them right now. Gun value books printed even 6 months ago don't reflect what the market is right now. Good luck ....

Superposed sounds nice maybe 1500 ish. 20 a5 sounds good as tough to find 20 older a5 with good barrel lenghth and desirable choke.maybe 800-1200 Japanese a5 mag least desirable but can shoot steel shot 500- 1000. That's with no researxh and just what I've seen in my area. Pm me if wants to sell the ou or 20 !

I sold light 20 A5 for $400. Full choke, plain barrel, cracked forearm and extensive pitting on the receiver and barrell. I had it refinished as it was pretty rough when I acquired it from the trunk of a rusty Buick. The pitting was too deep for it to be taken down far enough to get rid of without losing the scroll work and the crack was about a half inch long and epoxied. I paid $50 for the gun since the bore and action were good and $100 for the refinishing so not too bad a profit. I would guess that one that is in good shape would go for double that amount, especially with a vent rib.

The least I have paid for an A-5 was a couple of years ago for a Light 12 made in Belgium that was a bit rough, $500. I am seeing clean used A-5s at retail stores for usually closer to $1,000, but I don't know whether people are actually paying that.
