We all have done it. Needed the cash, thought the newest model or caliber was better, made a bad trade or some other reason we got rid of a gun and are still kicking ourself. I had a Remington 3200 with tubes and a new baby on the way. I also had a real old Cooey 22 bolt action that I gave to my brother and he has no idea where it is. I bought an AR7 22 and didn't think I would need it any more. I want it back. What is your I Want It Back?...Russ

Colt Gold Cup MKIV Series 80 National Match.

I Sold all my handguns when my first child arrived, (except one Belgian-made BHP).

I should have kept the Colt too.

I sold my *first* personally built AR15 after I'd had it complete for a week. I put 50 rds through it and sold it. (for a $275 profit, only reason I did it)

I can honestly say that I haven't sold a gun of any kind that I really want back. I wouldn't mind another Browning A-bolt, but I don't really need it, and the chambering, .270WSM, was awful (which is why I sold it). All of 'em didn't suit me in one way or another and none were family heirlooms or any emotional attachment.

:)

2 of the 4 guns I have were given to me by my grandfather so I highly doubt I'd ever get rid of them. The others I've bought as my first rifle and first pistol so they have sentimental value.

LC Smith, field grade 12 ga, with almost no finish left. I retired her after the lead shot ban, and then foolishly traded her off. Made a good trade, too, but that Elsie was a shooter with character.

First gun I doubled on mallards with, too. :(

Tromix Saiga 12 ... traded it and an AR to get a car back that I regretted selling ... then all of the sudden Tony stopped doing conversions and there was some doubt as to whether any more Saigas would be imported and the value of a shotgun I paid $800 for jumped up to over $2000.

I have owned and sold a fair number of guns in the ast 30 years or so. The majority of them in the last 7-10 years. All that said, I can only say that I truly regret one.

A Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry II. I had two of them, and in a fit of financial duress, sold one. Should have found something else to sell.

On the plus side, I still have it's twin. :)

I should have kept the M1 Garand that I bought in 1999. It was a beautiful gun and I'll never find another like it anywhere near the price I sold it for.

It pains me to think of the stuff that I let go, knowing I will never get them back. I could blame it on being young and dumb at the time. A Colt AR-15 was my first purchase about 31 years ago kept it for 6 months then traided it for Winchester 30-30, which was traided for a S&W 686 classic hunter, sold a UZI .9mm for a down payment on a dirt bike that never came to pass. I could go on but can't see the keyboard through the tears' lol
If only I knew then what I know now.

i bought a mini 14 in 2003 not only first rifle but first firearm i had ever owned. i traded it in on a ar15, becuse that was the closest thing to what i learned with in basic. missed my mini until i bought a new one. in one way i got lucky becuse my new one is much better then my first. better sights & better barrel. my mini always makes it to the rifle range with me along with one of my other rifles. don't know if i will sell the ar though as i don't want to go through with that agin.

My first Marlin 336. I'd pay good money for that one. :(

To keep the sad stories down, my first ever shotgun was left with my Dad when I went overseas many years ago. I continued to leave it with him after I was back as he had some use for it. After he died, it was not in the house. I figured he had lent it out and after a few months passed, I figured who ever had it had simply decided to keep it.

About 6 months after he was gone, the door bell rang and one of Dad's neighbors gave my Mom the shotgun back. He knew he had it, Mom hadn't moved and simply returned what to him was a beater shotgun. Little did he know we had no idea where it was and that it was the first gun my Dad had given me in 1965.

Good karma pays off... :)

Winchester M1 Carbine w/ original paratrooper stock

Uzi Model 'A' 9mm

Lee-Enfield No.4 MkI Sniper

But the one I miss the most is the first custom 1911 I ever built - Colt/Essex in .45 (I have a 'WTB' for this gun in the Buy/Sell Section)

Years ago I used to trade guns for other guns to get something that I wanted more. I guess the one that I wish I had back the most, was a mint
2 1/2" Colt Diamondback .22. Priced them lately. What was I thinking.

I had a 10/22 that was giving me some trouble (FTF/FTE with every mag/ammo I tried), so I sold it. I was glad to be rid of it at the time, but now that I'm back in the market for a .22 rifle, I'm thinking maybe I should have just had a good smith rebuild that Ruger for me.

Oh well, live and learn.

I too wish I still had the first AR I built ... 11.5" barrel with 5.5" flash hider on a Bushmaster receiver ... just sentimental reasons.

All these I sold to fund something else :banghead:

Knights SR25 ... Sold it for what I thought was stupid money I now have a DPMS LR308 that shoots almost as well but no where near the fit & finish

Valmet M76 ... was a walnut stock I sold to upgrade to a tube folder, which didn't happen

Valmet M78 in 308 ... not sure what I sold it to aquire

Valmet M82 ... the fiberglass shell was getting fragile but I wish I'd kept it

AUG Special Receiver ... have an A2 with most the accessories but wish I'd found another way to fund it.

1) Ruger Security Six, 4" heavy barrel, blued

2) Colt Trooper Mk.V, 6" barrel, blued

3) S&W Model 38, nickel

Why did you have to ask that.

I would have more fun attending a wake then writing about the favorite guns I've sold....now I won't be able to sleep. Why did you have to post this miserable question.

Gold Cup 70
Gold Cup 80
Springfield 1903A3
1917 Eddy Stone....never issued for duty.:banghead:

My first handgun, a S&W 629 nickel 6 1/2" barrel with half underlug and pachy grips, was stolen. A Browning Buckmark Silhouette model 22 was traded for a lnib Remington 700ml in 2005....love that muzzleloader, but miss that 22.

I bought a new Colt Series 70 Combat Commander in 1985 that I would give my left nut to still own. It was the first semi-auto I ever bought, and I loved it. Decided to sell it to pay some bills, and it went to my boss at the time. I have no idea where he went, but I'd love to have that gun back!

I had a working Bushmaster ARM pistol I foolishly sold back in the "Gee, that was cool! What's next!" phase.
