Thirty some years ago I had a friend who lived near New Braunfels, Texas on a few acres of land. The back porch overlooked about an acre of cleared property surrounded by woods. Deer were thick. Opening day would find him sitting on the porch in a bathrobe, steaming cup of coffee nearby and a rifle on the railing. He always scored. Now that’s civilized.
