About to get new PM45. Read/told that some say "Kicks like a mule", others say "No big deal".

What do you think based on experience ?

Thanks.

My experience with the PM45 is limited, but bases on that experience, I think I'm in love.

A friend came by the house recently with a PM45 that he had just acquired. I had a good supply of .45 ball on hand so we put a box through the little sweetheart.

Recoil seemed to be no greater than the felt recoil with my 1911. In short, recoil is definitely not an issue. And for sure the perceived recoil was not nearly as great as that with my LW Commander.

Trigger pull was outstanding. It felt like a well tuned and slicked DA revolver.

Reliability can't be judged with one box of ammo. But there were no problems with that one box.

Without benching the gun it is hard to say anything definitive about accuracy. But I can say that the "shootability" of the gun was awesome. After two or three ranging shots we were bouncing gallon milk jugs with some regularity at 100 yards shooting off hand, not every shot, but certainly half our shots. That's pretty stellar performance for a light-weight concealed carry pistol.

I have mentioned the PM45 in my letter to Santa. If that doesn't work, I'll have to buy one on my own.

Anyone who says the PM45 kicks like a mule probably hasn't shot one. The first day I got mine I put the 200 rounds for the "break in" through it. Then precoded to putting several different HP's through it, the majority being +P's. I couldn't have done that if the recoil was that bad. My wife says her SCXD40 "hurts worse." I think she's right, I just can't tell it in the few rounds I have shot through her XD.

Anyway I love my PM45, it is my everyday, everywhere gun. Get her good and broke in, remember to change the recoil spring every 1,000 rounds and you will have an fine piece. Also be prepared to be to amazed at how accurate they got a 3" barrel.

Mine jammed one time with me at round #39. If you do have problems (after 200 rounds) start asking people about "the notch." I'm to sleepy to explain now.

They are wonderful pieces...compact, lightweight, and very, very accurate.

Recoil is not an issue, though it seems a bit more than my P45...understandably. The backstrap is a bit aggressive, and a Hogue sleeve helps a great deal...

My PM45 had some pretty major teething problems...the only Kahr I've owned that has. Kahr got it right...

I almost purchased a new PM45 but found a used P45 and decided to make it a project gun.

I reduced the P45 grip length and now can use the PM45 5rnd magazines.

The recoil of this pistol is a the same felt recoil of my Springfield 1911 commander with alloy frame.

Meaning its is not bad at all.

So while my modified P45 has a 1/2 longer slide I would think the PM45 would be very close.

I have had no reliability issues with about 600rnds thru the P45.

Did find out that the P45 hates 200gr semi wad cutters.

It has run all 185gr, 200gr and 230gr FNRP ot HP's without issues.

I've had mine for a year, and I couldn't have done without during the summer. It's a great hot weather gun for carry, and mine has been 100% for over 600 rounds. I can feel the recoil with +P's, but with the standard GD's I usually carry, it's no problem.

I have one that has been great. Only 300 rounds so far. I waited 6 months.... (factury)but got a great price. It is too big for pocket carry but on the waist it is great. Light and tight. I also have a PM9 a better pocket carry.

Well, that depends. Mine is in my pocket right now, that is how I carry it everyday. As a matter of fact the only holster I currently have for it is a Mika's pocket holster. I will admit it is a pocket full, and I do wear Carhart carpenter pants with big pockets. So it is possible, but not necessarily practical for everyone.

I did have a Mitch Rosen OWB holster for it but I put a CT laser on it and have yet to get a new holster. But I will soon hopefully.
