I asked this a year ago and received some helpful information from members Arcticap and Das Jaegar. I still haven't bought either one but I am itching to make a purchase soon. Does anyone else have an opinion on wether or not it is worth it to spend the extra bucks on the "Bone Collector" edition of the triumph?

Here is a link to last year's thread for your reference.

Thanks again Arcticap! Several posters in those forums have mentioned a difference in stock length that might make it easier for some people to get the correct cheek weld for iron sights and scopes. I can't see any difference in the specs on the T/C web site. Anyone know what they are talking about?

I am tall and would imagine that a longer stock would be better if that is a choice, but I am fairly inexperienced with long guns and don't really know how this all comes to play.

You could always PM one of posters on huntingnet.com that have one or pose the question over on that forum. There's many greatly experienced inline shooters over there who own multiple rifles. They can easily give you the LOP for each of them and answer any other specific questions for you.
If you're tall then don't buy small unless you hunt with tons of heavy clothing on. Measure the length of pull of your favorite hunting rifle with all of your weather appropriate gear on, and that should give you a basis for a LOP that will accommodate you. Plus consider the length of the scope and its eye relief.
Many folks buy the Nikon BDC reticle scope to mount on their Triumph. It matches up well with its mounting hardware.
Let us know what you end up getting and how it all works out. :)

We have 2 Triumphs in our family and will soon have a third after Christmas. I really like them. They are all that you need in a 50 cal. The Bone Collector has the extra bells and whistles that you don't need unless you have the extra money and are buying for looks. With no more recoil, you don't need the extra padding. The extra cooling capacity I don't think is needed unless you can repeatably reload and shoot faster than a Nascar crew member can change a tire.....

Can you give measure your Triumph's length of pull for him? That's the distance from the trigger to the end of the middle part of the buttplate.

With the hammer cocked, the trigger measures 14 1/2" to the center of the pad.

I am 6'2" and picked the bone collector. I held both at my dealer and there was only a $30 difference between them.

I think I have decided to get the regular Triumph. I can see the difference in LOP between the two but I don't really feel that one is better than the other when I shoulder each.

However, the BC also has a shorter distance between the pistol grip and the trigger and I think I would get too much finger on the trigger with the shorter distance. ( I don't think its called a pistol grip in this case but I can't find a diagram to name that part of the stock )

Know I just need to determine if I need weather shield. I really like the price of the blued version at Cabelas.

Thanks for all the advice. I went to Cabelas the day before opening day, ( not the best time to go ) and bought the Accura V2. Went to the range and found out I need to find some cleaner and newer 209's and also that a nipple pick is an important "possible". The plug was fowled after 2 shots. I think the 209's I was using were from WWII\ and were very dirty.
