At the gun show

cause the only good deal there is the jerky???

The gun shows around here are quite good, and due to the number of promoters and venues, it is possible to go to one twice a month. If you're looking for a specific, readily available firearm, you still want to check multiple vendors, as sometimes there are substantial differences in pricing.

I suspect the people who complain about gun shows the most still keep going back anyway, if only to come back and complain.

longhair75,That is an RK show to be exact but under new ownership. Last time they had a show their this past spring it was $5.00 to get in. I deal with the dealers in Omaha and since I have my ccw permit and state buyers card,I do not have to go through that mandatory city handgun registration bs. And,I know that I see the same thing the dealers have at each show I go to. So,I am cutting back on the shows and if I want to I will go to the Millard show this coming weekend just to browse the tables and pickup some brass and bullets from 3lees.

i figure they are like anywhere else you find somw good deals you see some bad deals and the rest are average. overall i like them sometimes you can look at, shoulder, and see if something you saw online is what you wanted and worth the money.

$4!!! Wow. I went to a show today and it was $9 to get in, and that was with a $1 coupon.
I did see some interesting stuff. I saw a few AK's under $400, including 2 of the AK pistols. Somebody had a big display of Luger pistols. He had some from all over, about 20 pistols total. I talked to the dad of the owner, he was waiting for his son to get there. I don't know what happened, but an hour later, the display was gone.
I saw some guns that were reasonable, for some reason though, I saw a few S&W Sigma's and all were priced well over what a new one at Academy is priced.
I still enjoy meeting people and seeing what they have to trade. Lots of good stuff comes in under people's arms.

Nothing like the 400+ S&W sigmas, hell it wasn't that long ago that they were running the $50 rebate and extra mag deal

Up here in Michigan you can find some good deals here and there but I have found their prices are high overall.

One was a 9F that was $529, another was a 40GVE that was $549. I'm pretty sure they didn't sell.

a NEW sigma can be found for about 270-330 if you know were to look

I like the gun shows that sell WASR 10/63 rifles for $650!!!!! I offered a vendor at a gun show $400 out the door and he said that even he can't get them for than price.

I asked him if he ever heard of AIM Surplus or Classic Arms on the internet. I told him they are selling the exact same rifle for $369. He said I could not get that for that price and he has the cheapest price on WASR rifles. He then said I should go buy from them. Guess what, I took my money elsewhere. He is a vendor at all the local gun show and still has those SAME WASR rifles for $650!!!! I guess he figures someone will be dumb enough, but not yet.

Some of the gunshows put on by the big promoters have really sucked due to the high prices, bad attitudes, and crowded aisles. I have avoided these largely for the last 2 years. The King really helped boost gun sales as we all know but the gun show dealers must think that people that visit these flea oops excuse me gun shows must live in a vacuum devoid of gun shops, sporting goods stores and other purveyors of guns and ammo. I have found the small shows that pop up here and there for just a one day opening in small towns often are better in many ways. Also you usually dont run into the same tired, grouchy and sky high dealers. Yeah in respone to another poster I have seen firearms priced so high over local gun shops that it leaves wondering where the heck are these persons from. I have one friend that loves pushing their buttons just for the fun of it. hey try the smaller shows for entertainment.
