Tomorrow I am heading up to the fun show to get a Bersa Thunder 9 UC. I say that with certainty because there's one dealer for Bersa who sells her 9MMs for the going rate of ~350$. The last time I went to the gun show and felt one of these guns, I instantly liked it. The trigger felt very light in SA and light and very smooth in DA (much smoother and lighter than my CZ Phantom), and the trigger reset was outstanding.

I did some research online and couldn't find any complaints regarding reliability.

I like the Bersa for 2 big reasons
1: It's small enough for carry. It is much smaller than a Glock 19
2: It has a lot of accessories. I was able to find a lot of holsters made for it, and it has a rail so I can attach a light or laser to it.

I have an Ultra Compact Pro and love it! I am not a big fan of the striker-fired guns, ESPECIALLY the ones without a real safety catch. The Bersa has several great features to me:

1. Real SA/DA operation.
2. Safety operates in the "1911" direction, not opposite like Beretta, Ruger, S&W and Walther.
3. Safety can be applied with hammer at rest and also functions as decocker.
4. Mag release can be flipped for lefty use.
5. High capacity magazine (13+1) in 9mm.

I usually run mine with 12 rounds in the mags to prevent rattle, and have fired over 300 rds of various FMJ and JHP without issue.

A great value in today's market!

They are good guns for the price.

I have the 40 UC

I like everything that you mentioned

I CC mine

Negatives in my book

- very subpar finish on the slide. (I am going to reblue this next week)

- The rail was not finished properly (burr) and cut into my leather holster
which I filed down, (I am going to reblue that area this week as well)

- From the reviews many people felt that they were very accurate.
I believe it to be serviceable, but not on par with my other pistols
(Good at 7 yards...... not so much after that)

- Very snappy in 40 (the 9 is a better choice, in that department)

Again, for the price, its a good deal.

The pistol has been 100% reliable for me

If I had to do it over again I probably would have just picked up a used P239.

Gotta agree with MrIzhevsk here. Everything i've read about these pistols (granted it is just internet talk) has been excellent.
Have fun with your new toy :D

I have a Bursa Thunder 380 CC. Different caliber but some characteristics are same. Till you get the hang of it, field stripping can be a challenge. Getting the slide back on had me buffaloed till I read the directions. Once I did that, it is fast and easy. The sights are pretty much non-existent with no provisions to add any without a gunsmith. I know this is is for CC purposes but so are others with better sites. Mine only came with one mag. Great pocket gun. I can't remember any misfires.

Lately, I really try to buy American made stuff. Go American.

Why would we talk you out of buying a good gun that is sold at a decent price?? I have the Firestorm version of their .45 ACP,..it's called a Mini Thunder,...

It has been a great shooter,..though not finely made,..but well more than adequate. It works,..and I like it. The only down side I have found is the cost of spare mags gets a lot pricey,..other than that,...I'd buy another one if this one ever wears out.....

I have a Bersa Thunder 9 UC, and a Glock 19. Its been reliable, and accurate for me. I like the ergonomics, it feels good in my hands. The Bersa is smaller in length, but the grip is wider than the Glock 19. I think it weighs a little more than a Glock 19 according to their Web sites.

Glock 19 weight unloaded 20.99 oz. Width 1.18 in. Length 6.85 in.
Bersa UC weight unloaded 23 oz. Width: 1.45” Length: 6.5”

For the price, it is hard to beat. If you want to spend more, yes you can get better.

I always wanted one but I have heard they are "hit and miss" as far as reliability. I just dont like the internal lock key safety thing on the side of them.
SOrry I was talking of the Bersas in .380 but not sure about the 9mms.

I got the Thunder 45 UC Pro about two months ago. No complaints, no malfunctions, adequately accurate for concealed carry. Sights not as good as Sig sights, but the Pro models can have the Sig sights mounted on them!
