g'day all, im looking to replace a 12 guage shotty, this gun will be general purpose, a bit of social clay target shooting, rabbit shooting and duck shooting, but i need a U/O cause i live in australia and only have a standard license, any suggestions? cheers

How much do you plan on shooting? How much are you willing to spend? Good O/Us are expensive, and often the cheap ones aren't worth owning.

I'm partial to Browning Citoriis but I recently purchased a Beretta 686. I used to shoot competitive skeet with a Browning Skeet model with tubes putting 6 to 8 thousand rounds through it a year for several years without a hiccup.

You might look at the Mossberg O/U. They have a good reputation with their pump shotguns and would expect they would want to maintaing that reputation with their O/Us. I've been considering one for a farm gun.

I would get 28 inch barrels with interchangeable choke tubes.

I know new amateur radio equipment is expensive down under when compared to the US market, I can't even imagine what the markup on firearms might be. Good luck with your choice. There are lots of good shotguns out there in different price ranges.

i think that there a number of options open to you in a number of price brackets. at the lower end there are some good guns by lamber, bettinsoli and some others. then a little higher you will be in the Browning, miroku and berretta area. if you can afford one of the better ones then get one. I use a miroku mk70 gd 3 and it is ace.

I have a Verona LX502 o/u. i think i paid 600 from dicks about 6 years ago. It points incredibly well and hits what I'm shootin at. People will say to stay away from the cheapies, but if it works...
