Do you still have your first firearm?

Yes, a Marlin 60 my father gave me on my 11th birthday in August of 1994. My son is 6 months old, and I hope to give it to him in 9-10 years (if papaw doesn't buy one for him first).

Yes.
A J.C. Penney .22 rifle given to me when I was 14 and my parents deemed I would be responsible enough to not shoot my sister. (I didn't).
That was 50 yrs ago, and I still have it. I'll never sell it. I also have the Iver Johnson 16 ga. shotgun my dad had when he was a kid. That single shot put food on the table for a lot of years.

First shotgun-no. Was a Savage/Stevens 20 gauge pump, IC choke. Great for cottontail rabbits. Wish I had it now for my kids to use.
First handgun-yes. Dan Wesson 15-2 .357 Magnum, bought when I turned 21 in 1984 on my birthday. Sniff (wipes eyes). Miss the freedom but not the poverty.
First rifle-Remington Speedmaster 22, still in the family at least.
First centerfire rifle-Remington 788 in .22-250. NO.

I have my first gun...it wasn't a firearm. It was a Crossman Model 766 air rifle. It doesn't even work anymore. That tells you that I pretty much don't get rid of anything. I can't remember whether my first firearm was a Savage 24 20 gauge/.22lr or a .22 short single shot custom German rifle brought back after WW2 by my grandfather. I still have both. In fact I still have every gun that I ever owned, and I most likely will until the day I die.

First one I shot--30 Carbine (Underwood) at age 4--inherited it from Grandfather a while ago.

First rifle--a Springfield 120 .22 single shot bolt, Christmas when I was 9--still have it.

First shotgun--Savage 12 gauge single shot, Christmas when I was 10--still have it.

First pistol--Ruger MK I at 21--also first purchased--still have it.

Still have almost every firearm and blade I have ever owned, lucky to have not needed to sell any to raise $$$.

Yes, Marlin 881 that I will never get rid of, UNLESS I give iot to one of my nephews. That being said, I have EVERY firearm I've ever owned!!! I have a tendency to get attached, you might say.....that, and one of them have ever given me a reason to WANT to get rid of them!

First Rifle Marlin Model 25 .22 bolt action. Just handed it down to my son.
First Shot gun Ithaca Deer slayer 12 ga. and yes and still hunt with it.
First handgun was an old Colt .45 revolver and no sold it years ago.

Winchester 63 left to me by my Dad when he passed away when I was 5. That was 58 years ago. Winchester 37 410 gauge bought by my mother for me as a Christmas present when I was about 13. Will always have both and have planned for them to be passed on when I go.

Yes (sort of) but it took some doing.

My first firearm was a Mossberg model 146B .22 cal bolt action rifle. I was 12 when I bought it used from my sisters boyfriend for $25 I had mowed lawns to earn. Up until that point all the firearms I shot/used were my dads.

I killed untold cottontails with that rifle up until I went in the Corps. When I left for boot camp I gave the rifle to my nephew. (stupid I know)

Years later when my son was about to turn ten, I called my nephew to see if he still had the rifle so I could buy it from him and have it restored to be my sons first gun. He told me he had sold it to my brother.

I then called my brother and asked him about the gun and told him what I wanted to do. Now my brother is a first class scum bag and money grubber so it took $150 to get the gun back.

I then had it completely restored with a complete reblue and refinish of all the wood. About $250. I then gave it to my son for his tenth birthday. Total investment in the gun insluding shipping expenses: Over $450. The memories in that gun and the look on my sons face when I gave it to him: Priceless. He is 21 now and although the gun is his, it is still in my safe.

Lesson learned: Never sell a gun!

Yes.

I learned to shoot with a Remington .22 bolt-action single shot that my dad bought at Western Auto--probably before I was born. It was old and beat-up when I was using it to learn and I'm 62 years old right now. I still have that gun although it is in awful condition due to years of neglect and abuse.

Remington M597 LSS.
I've shot that thing so much the bolt got a small tear in it.

Yes I do. It's a Marlin mod 80DL with a x JC Higgens scope. It was given to me by my dad when I was ten years old. It still enjoys atrip to the range.

Remington model 12C. .22 rimfire pump with octagonal barrel. Dad gave it to me when I was 10 or 11. It was his first gun, too. Given to him new by his uncle.

sadly, no. i sold it a LONG time ago to help buy something else. it was a great squirrel / rabbit gun. a savage 24 22 wmr over a 3" 20 guage. lots of little furry critters fell to that gun in the 5 years or so i had it.

Yup; Series 70 Colt Mk IV 1911. Bought it for service use when I was a brand new Marine 2ndLt. Needless to say I suppose..many moons ago.
