I've bought and sold numerous rifles and pistols over the last 10 yrs. on line and via forums such as the High Road and Marlin Owners. Never had a problem. I'm more likely to buy onlin if I'm looking for a particular gun and/or the price tag is high enough that the sales tax savings outweighs shipping & FFL fee.

Almost all of my guns have been bought online. The gun shops near me are so bad service and price wise, I am not sure how they stay in business. I have been beaten 4 times now on condition of guns I have bought online and those beat downs have taught me the correct questions to ask PRIOR to the purchase. I have bought about 125 total guns online and to have 4 gone bad, not a bad % for buying guns unseen.

I use gunbroker mostly, some auction arms, never bought from guns america. I have found using the various forums are easy and solid as the feed back sysytems and all the hoopla about your purchase is solid at the auction sites are pure BS. In the forums buy/sell areas are easy, usually no BS and the feedbacks are instant and stand ground.

Yes. Numerous times. Never had a problem.

Last week's experience was the latest. I ordered a new Ruger from Davidson's Gallery of Guns on Wednesday evening, and picked it up from the FFL Friday morning (Christmas Eve). Couldn't be easier.

I have bought online from Gallery of Guns and Shooters of Jacksonville. The best deals and quickest shipment have been the ones I bought at "Shooters" (shootersjax.com); couldn't have been happier with those purchases.

I purchased a Springfield Armory TRP a few months ago on Gun Broker. Smooth transaction and the dealer was good to deal with.

Sort of:
3 black powder rifles,
1 black powder pistols,
3 parts kits,
and a couple of air guns.

(the local shops charge too much for transfers)

I have a C&R but I haven't found anything that I'm willing to buy that way - sight unseen.

Here are a couple of my GunBroker buys, prices were too good to pass up :)

Bought a Remington 700 and a stripped Rock River AR-15 lower a couple years back through Gunbroker.com. Transaction went smoothly on both purchases. Bought the M700 because the price was really good and it was a prior year limited edition that was not available locally. Bought the AR receiver during the dark time following Jan 2008 because I wanted to have one just in case the AWB got resurrected when nobody had them available, and again, I lucked out and got a good price. My next gun purchase will be a pistol for CCW, but that one will be bought locally since I don't feel comfortable buying a carry gun without making sure it fits my hand well.

i bought one gun online. transfer was smooth. i usualy find guns cheaper online but the transfer fee and shipping usualy cancels out the cheaper online price.

another reason to buy local. you get it day. no waiting for it to come in.

That's a good point about shipping and xfer fees. I doubt that I'll buy online again unless the gun I'm looking for is difficult to find locally, or the price is so much better that I'm still saving a substantial amount even with shipping and transfer fees, and the extra running around I have to do to arrange the xfer.

Since my local dealers can order just about any current production gun, and at a reasonable price, I have found it not to be worth the extra effort required for online gun purchases.

Yep. Bought from Buds, SOG, JGSales, Classicarms, Centerfiresystems, and Dawson Precision. Great way to get a good deal.

I bought one recently through GunsAmerica. It was a new gun so I wasn't worried about condition. I was amazed at all the different calibers/makes available. Some prices were good, some weren't so good but if you're looking for something that's hard to find, that's the place to go. Kinda addicting though :)

Bought a coupe from Bud's, a few off Gunbroker, and a few from the "For Sale" forum from various firearms websites. Maybe I've been lucky, but I've never had an issue. All were as described.

Recently purchased a Beretta 90-two for my brother on Gallery of Guns. Was quick and easy using their Gun Genie search. Shipping was right around a week.

My experience is good with dealers and I got jobbed by an individual. I bought only used guns, which I now have to sell, and all but one were with my C&R license.

I've bought more than a dozen from GunBroker.com and AuctionArms.com. Never had any problems with the guns or the people I've dealt with.

on line gun buys...

I have found the 'net' to be an invaluable, irreplacable source for hard to find / discontinued models. In more than 5yrs on the 'net' I have yet to find a new production firearm at a price that my local dealr can not equal or beat. And after attending more than a 200 gun shows I have found items that blow away the NET and the DEALER.

The net has it's niche. The local gun shop has its's niche. The gun show has a niche.

And together it is a nearly impossibility to NOT find the jacketed-lead-launcher you desire! With the net, I shop from the comfort of my home, my finger's do the walking, no matter the Weather...and a local shop or gun show CAN'T beat that convience....

I guess I am old school... I still like to caress the things I buy first...

I have sold guns but the fees are too high, and I like guns I can touch before I buy. I want to be able to feel the action and pull the hammer back to see how it locks up. I don't want to take someones objective opinion. If i screw up it's on me
