Ruger is at it again....

Man, I would have to buy one! I like the LCP just fine, but wouldnt mind a truly compact 9mm!!

Dont care for the SR9c. The SR9 is nice, the compact is just akward to me.

probably another AR15 or 1911...because ruger is just that innovative!

Got an email on the 1st saying that they'll tell me what it is tomorrow.

Today, I get what's posted above, which is "we'll really tell you Monday....probably...."

I googled this and the first entry was another forum. They seemed to think it was a chromed LCP.

My noodles and kabootles are on a somewhat upgraded version of a handgun/rifle that already is produced, and costs more than if you made a comparable model yourself.

Im hoping for a compact 9mm. I will definitely buy one.

I say "old gun, new caliber" SR40c. I hope their talking about that Gunsite Scout Rifle.

Yeah, because every single other major gun company that builds both AR's and 1911's is way more innovative somehow.

Never say never, but I would guess not. SR9c's are selling very well, and it wouldn't make a lot of sense to try and introduce another compact 9mm now. Then again, I am not an industry analyst, so maybe!

They didn't say it was necessarily a handgun insofar as the op's post states. Maybe it's their new "tactical', ten-round, box magazine-fed Model 77 bolt-action they're referring to?

I got the "Scout rifle" email several days ago, so it would seem this is a different gun.

It wouldn't make much sense to introduce the same gun twice inside a week.

You're dealing with Ruger fanboy's, three ongoing, major recalls and still it's Pavlovs dogs when Ruger announces their next potentially mega-super-massive recall effort....

LCR loses to kel-tec .380 and .32 and the s&w .380 bodyguard

LCR loses to s&w real bodyguard .38 revolver

I can't believe at one point i was looking at buying the SR9 thank god i got my m&p 9c!

you mean the LCP (P=Pistol) loses to Kel Tec... right?

the Bodyguard vs LCR (R=Revolver) is a good comparison except for that laser on the top that is actually kind of flawed my my opinion because of its means of operation (having to cycle through and push a button at the top of the revolver, kind of awkward if you ask me, you have to turn it on by pushing the button on the top, kind of hard in a heat of the moment if you ask me)
the cylinder release is also goofy on the S&W,

the Smith does have a smoother trigger pull than the Ruger but it is still heavier than the Ruger.

when it boils down to it, it is all personal taste...... i wouldn't say the Ruger or the Smith is better than the other
i, for one, wouldn't buy that smith over the Ruger (and i really like S&W)

i did buy an SR9 and i hated it at first, and then i hated it after i installed the Ghost Trigger. trigger still sucked....
i tinkered with it for a while and now i really like it.
smoothed out all the parts that were in contact with each other, realigned the trigger bar (needed to after Ghost installation) , smoothed out the striker indicator and it is a smooth and lighter trigger now. its not really light, but what striker fired pistol is?
its not heavy, and its not light either....

what kind of forum is this? talking about "fanboys" and bashing firearm companies because you own a competition company's product???
i suppose you fellows are not Saf-T-Hammer (S&W) "fanboys"???
i haven't signed into thehighroad for about a year and it turned into this????

you should talk about positive merits and negative properties of individual firearms. discuss the different aspects of the competing products to help folks figure out what would be best for them...

as for what Ruger is coming out with, i have no idea....
my next purchase will be a Bisley in .357 and their new product will have no impact in my decision.
chances are that it will not be all that revolutionary, might be interesting though
i am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and not judge them till i actually see it and then see it perform/handle it myself

they are going to have to go with 8 or more shots in a .357
Smith already has 8 shot revolvers....

but those Smiths are in the 1,000+ price bracket, not the 550-600 range as the GB revolvers
i suspect a Ruger with a 8 shot capacity might be in the 650-700 dollar range... maybe

i would be interested in that....

although i do like the gold bead front sight of that R8 Smith....

its going to be an automatic handgun, not a revolver.... i am betting

I purchased a couple things from the Ruger store online. Since then I get at least 3 emails a week from Ruger. I find it irritating enough that I would buy no matter what it is on the simple fact that I am tired of emails from them.

words on the street is that the Ruger LSJ model is coming out

i gotta say though if they come out with a polymer framed single stack 1911 without the magazine disconnect, i'd be interested
