ULTIMATE 9MM carry gun?

carry 9

How about the springfield EMP 9MM, I cant find any fault with it + being what I believe will be a classic someday down the road!

For me it has to be the CZ-75 Pro-Tek 1 from CZ Custom:

My choice, regardless of price would be my current EDC.

Glock 26. It pockets with a 10 rd mag, it OWB or IWB with a 12 rd mag. I cant believe how accurately and quickly I can shoot this little peanut. Who cares about chrome and engraved unicorns on a carry gun? Priorities are a little different on a weapon that will be expected to defend my life. It isn't that light, it isn't that thin, but it holds allot of ammo for its size and it shoots like a much larger pistol.

You can't beat HI-CAP, SINGLE ACTION, Browning Hi-Power all the way! (even though mine is way too nice to carry :D)

what about a taurus mill pro, or a sr9c, i know they "be" plastic, but cant be beat, especially the millpro. look at these from a practicality standpoint and you should see the light.

For all-around everything, Glock 19. No question.

Since I carry an M9 at work, I bought the same platform (with a better safety) to shoot on my own. A stainless Taurus 99.

I carry a 9mm Commander most often when off the job. But I'll have a Glock 19 or 23 again, one day. Why? Because I'm cheap? No. Because they work well, extremely well at being good shooting, easy-carrying, concealable, high capacity defensive handguns.

Unless this limitless money can get my imaginary dream-9mm

CCW: I'd probably stay with my little "tupperware" Kel-Tec PF9... can't bring myself to carry anything else often enough ;)

Open: one of these beautiful M9s or a BHP, of course!

My carry $.02;

Currently, HK P7 and sometimes the wife's PPS. Also have a 642 revolver with CT grips to just throw in the pocket. I need to find a better holster for the P7. Currently I have the Galco PPS IWB, which works pretty well. Of the many I have tried it keeps the most of the grip exposed so you can grab enough to get a decent grip and activate the squeeze cocker. I do need to get something designed just for the HK P7, probably either a Kramer or a Sparks VMII. Can't beat the size, weight, and especially thinness of the PPS.

Guns a have carried CCW in the past;

CZ P01. Great gun though just a tad on the large size. Good ammo capacity, really reliable, shoots good, just replaced it wih the HK P7.

PX4 Storm. Neat little gun though needed to really move the sights when I first got it. Didn't like the safety and the pointy-ends, it always bit my hand when I racked the slide. Also, with the limited slide real estate. Too easy to put the gun on safe when racking the slide. Too much sharp stuff on the slide and it is so short, for me it is just not very ergonomic.

Sig P239. Great gun though a bit heavy. Shoots ultra good. Wife didn't like the long DA pull, got rid of it to get either a DAK model, or one I could convert to SRT. Never got around to getting a new one because the P7 came along.

Sig P229. Good gun though like all Sigs, heavy, big, and especially thick. Face it, Sigs are bricks.

Kimber Pro TLE II. A bit big, and I just did not have enough experience wi 1911s to be really comfortable carrying cocked and locked. Really needs a bobtail. Got rid of it to get out of 45 and concentrate on 9mm and 40.

Kahr PM9. Great gun, very affordable. Did not like the trigger. Kahr triggers are perfect examples or everything that is bad about triggers. Creep, grittiness, too long a pull, etc.

IMHO...Glock 19. Meets all of my needs for a good carry 9mm, without having to spend a ton of money.

But again...this is just my opinion. ;)

My EDC Glock 19 because it's so much lighter than my Hi Power. If the BHP was even just 5-6 ounces lighter it would replace the G19 on hip without a moments notice.

For me it is either a Glock 26 or a Glock 19 for a self defense gun.

The best carry gun would be something like a Ruger LCP. Its a breeze to carry but I think it is about as bad a fighing gun as one could get into. I actually have one and only use it when I wouldnt be able to take anything else. That sucker is so small, its dang hard to get a good hold of, much less in a hair raising nanosecond of an attack! Seems that people only look at whats good to carry sometimes vs whats a good compromise between efficeient carry AND good enough fighting characteristics. That is why we carry isnt it? To defend ourselves, and that will be the fight of your life.

YMMV of course!
