of firearm?

I am an anomaly I believe. I am interested in early fur trade (think flintlock rifles) to late 1800's. I have an AR, but would much prefer to shoot my single action revolvers and lever action rifles. My wish list is composed almost entirely of blackpowder hand and long guns, and repros of late 1800's SAA and lever guns.

So what is yours? What style are you drawn to?

i try not to discriminate, but if i had to put myself into two categories i guess it would be:

1) 1911 pistols
2) Bolt action rifles.

Large caliber auto handguns (.45acp and 10mm) and shotguns! Growing up in SD upland hunting is a big part of the gun program and shotguns are the obvious choice.

My interest in the last few years has been in shotguns. I suppose due to the fact I got hooked and skeet shooting.
I like any and all firearms actually. Great hobby I have enjoyed all my life.

Military, mostly WW2 era to early 20th century; largely rifles I'm not really a pistol shooter.

The only guns I have in my collection that are not military were either a gift, or in the case of my shotgun something nice to shoot with guests.

Although I'm starting to get into more modern military firearms.

Sporting firearms hold no interest for me, they have no interesting history. Unless it was owned by Goering or Churchill.

Ok--i will toss my choices in:

Colt 1911a1, python's, diamondback's, woodsman's, s&w model 29, & remington ba rifles (model 721 .30-06 & model 700 bdl in .243 winchester) all of my toys are at least 30 to 50 years old, but they have been shot a lot, but cared for carefully--they all really look terrific. Yes they are stored in a big honkin treadlock safe that weighs about 700 pounds.

I've always had a soft spot for lever rifles, singlefire bolt rifles and single action revolvers, the stuff I cut my teeth on. My collection is pretty diverse, but those are usually the ones I go to for fun-shooting.
Now that you mention it, I'm without a lever-action rimfire rifle. Gee thanks, now I have to start shopping ;)

Guns with "Character."

Unless they have something special, like a hotly contested cartridge or a new design or some fandangled new piece of technology, or a bad rep... chances are I'm not interested.

Currently I have a beaten to hell and bubba'd E9, a 10mm and a 92D among my collection.

I love almost all, but my favorites are semiauto handguns and Beretta especially. I could die a happy man if I owned the entire Beretta catalogue.

Fun, cheap. 'Fun' can also be 'whatever looks interesting'.

Really, aside from the SD/HD pieces (practical), most of my stuff is .22 (fun, cheap) or older than my parents. (Interesting)

If I had the money, I would have more late- and post-war Soviet stuff, a Mateba, one of those British revolvers than recocked via the recoil, and the like. Mechanically interesting things.

I go through stages. Right now I'm into small caliber rifles but I also like handgun caliber carbines.
Last summer, I was HUGE into milsurp rifles.

I guess "rifles" would simplify my answer but I love all guns.

Most of my attention goes to WWII guns and I blame this on my purchase of a Mosin. My father also has a beautiful collection of old pistols which I also thinks influence my interest.

I never met a firearm I wasn't interested in. I also shoot black powder but only for fun. Serious work calls for modern firearms and they outnumber the black powder by a huge margin.

Most anything that can be used safely by left handed people. Safeties that are ambidextrous are preferred. Some eject spent casings and hit you in the top of the head. Bolt action can be quite awkward. 10% of the population is left handed.

I was looking at a bull-pup design at a gun show. Lefties would really get barraged with these.

I guess if I had to pick a single genre that I have the most guns in it would be 22 caliber handguns. I've got 3 revolvers and 4 semis in 22LR. I really love the little 22 and I also have a lot of kids which, no doubt, adds to my interest in 22s. Perhaps when they are grown and gone I'll focus more in other areas...or not. :)
