What do you think of the QRP2 mount for the Aimpoint M4? I am planning on mounting it on a flat top AR15. Is this mount designed for flat top rifles? Thanks.

I like LaRue's stuff, but I don't see anything on LaRue's website for the Aimpoint M4. Also, I am interested in if the QRP2 mount is for flat tops and how it works. Apparently it is a quick detach that will maintain zero, even when removed. Can anyone comment on this? Thanks.

The QRP2 mount functions perfectly fine and is designed for flat tops with the picatinny rail system. The knob is designed so that when you tighten it, the proper amount of torque is already preset. Just stop tightening it after you hear two clicks. The biggest complaint I've seen is the large knob that secures the mount to the AR. Tactically, it can get in the way, like get caught on your chest rig especially if you have magazine pouches on the front. Otherwise, if you don't compete in any shooting sports where execution of movements without snags is critical, the QRP2 will be just fine. If you're not sure, try it out for yourself before purchasing a Larue or any other mount. Have you bought the M4/M4s yet? It should already come with the QRP2.

As for the Larue mount for the M4, click here. It works for both the M4 and M4s.

The -S has the battery and brightness dial located on the lower right side (as opposed to the upper right side) to help lower the profile a bit.
