I've been wanting to buy an UZI but don't know which to choose. i like the century uc-9 for the price. i have handled the vector arms looks and feels nice in terms fit and finnish. any help would be appreciated

I have to hand it to you, I havent seen anyone who was actively looking for an UZI in a long time. in the firearms world, I thought they were kinda like the equivalent to Members Only jackets, went out in the 80's. I have shot several and was just never impressed enough to buy one. I couldnt really find a use for it..

If the Vector feels good to you, get it. One thing I have learned over the years and surfing forums, is dont let anyones opinion get in the way of what you really want..I would have passed up some of my favorite firearms if I had listened to all the detractors out there.

All that being said, buy it, and report back with what ya think after you get it!

I would certainly shoot one before you buy it. Don't be in a hurry. They sure aren't what most people consider optimal for accuracy, ergonomics, "shootability." You should find a range that will rent one, or ask around on the forum to see if someone in your area has one you could run a box of ammo through before you put down your money.

I know quite a few shooters who one one. I've even seen them shoot them once. Well, some of them.

Now, as a true submachine gun they're more interesting. There are still much more shootable platforms out there, but they are a lot better as a sub-gun than they are as a semi-auto carbine.

They are still one of the more reasonably accessible (read 'cheap') ways to get into Title II firearms if you can save up ~$7,000.

I had one 24 years ago and wished like heck I never sold the thing. They are fun and a hoot to shoot. Interesting conversation piece that's for sure. All this talk of fit and finish on a combat gun kind of makes me chuckle though, IMI is known for alot of things but show guns ain't one of them.
Good luck with your decision
God speed

I have a vector and enjoy it. It is SBR and I shoot it suppressed. It replaced my hi-point carbine.

I had an UZI Model B back in the late 80s. Three peice bolt to get around the NFA issues with the Model A. Jammamatic. Seriously, the famed UZI reliability was absolutely nowhere to be found, couldn't get a full mag through without jamming. Sold it to a gunshop buddy of mine who wanted the serial number with mostly sevens in it. Also dead serious - that's all he wanted it for, a "lucky" gun.
If you want an UZI, save up and get the real thing, the NFA original, as the semi auto ones with the long carbine barrel just "ain't the same."
