Looks like you under- 'exposed' " that shot.

Years, yes years I have been on this forum and you are the first one to get the "Exposure" moniker.

In fact, I have been on here so long that my interest in photography has waned down to nothing. But I have kept this screen name just because it is what I know. :neener:

I look at my screen name now and it seems really kind of perverse, when I was at the height of my rabid photography mania it seemed pretty clever.

Thanks for finally making a crack about it. It only took darn near 7 years for someone to catch on!

Wow I am getting old.

Well then consider that it took an old guy to catch it. Old has some -not many- but some benefits.

I bet not a day, not a day! goes by in this country where some poor innocent chrono is shot for no reason! Poor little things....

There's two kinds of chronograph users.
Them that's shot their chrony and them that's gonna shoot their chrony.

Happened to me too.

LOL - looks like the previous poster beat me to it! :D

You actually missed the target on that shot ... the ready supplied target is in the "o" in Chrony...there is a reason that they put that target there... to shoot at!!

Similar to what my granddad would say .." I wish I had a dollar for every chrony that has been shot " ....I buy me a Oehler !

Shoot it a few more times and claim self-defense. Sometimes they charge when they're wounded.

Res45's idea of making body armor for chronys is treading some pretty dangerous ground. Just remember the movies 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Terminator. Never turn your back on anything with a chip in it.

If it will make you feel better, here's a picture of mine. That steel ramp in front of the Chrony is a good idea, however it wouldn't have helped me any. I hit one of the rods for the sky screen, and it deflected down and did it's damage. Mine took a 90 gr 9mm at about 1350 fps.

Contact Chrony, they will give you options including selling you a new one at a greatly reduced price. Very nice people to deal with, and it is a very common issue for them.

Sorry about your Chrony. As several have said, if it is downrange, eventually everything gets shot.

I sent my first one to Electronic Heaven about two years ago with a 158 grain slug. Stuff happens.

I re-read the booklet on my upgraded unit and have been using soda straws for the uprights when they are needed.

All right since we're fessin' up...

Mine died when I was puttin a new scope on an AR15A1
The guts took the round right down the middle.
Absolutely everything inside was destroyed.

Ouch........ it happens.

I remember when i first got my chrony. The first time i used it, i shot one of the metal shade poles. Now i use bamboo skewers. At $0.99 per 50, i can afford to trim a few.

it is pictures like these that made me decide on getting a CED M2.....now if I ever shoot the brains, I think I'll have bigger problems to worry about.

No big loss, the chrono probably didn't work half the time anyway. :p
I actually shot mine on purpose and disposed the body in a dumpster.
I now face charges for intentional chronocide.
