Why are HK's so dang expensive?

Heck, I like Glock's , XD's, and HK... I have or curently stock each brand.. so it's not like I am close minded here... Just sayin'

I own a Glock 26 (Gen 3), a HK USPc V1, and a (Gen 1) HS2000. All three are good pistols. I don't use any of them hard enough to see where one might have an edge in endurance. Fit 'n' finish is best on the HK but the Glock is not far behind. I prefer the trigger pull on the HK and I am modestly more accurate with the HK than the other two. I never liked the grip angle on full size Glocks but on the subcompact it's somehow not an issue. I didn't care for the stock plastic sights on the Glock so I paid a bit extra for night sights. Do I think HK's are overpriced? Yep. Do I think they make a really fine pistol? Yep.

I don't understand why folks get so fired up over the issue. If you want the best value for your dollar, buy a Glock. If it's worth it to you to buy something, IMO, marginally nicer for considerably more $$, buy HK. I will never torture test either of them to know if the HK would outlast the Glock and would therefore be worth the extra coin. I'm happy with my purchases. I'm sorry if any of them has pissed you off. :p

Well, if GLOCK is so great, how come everyone doesn't buy GLOCK and GLOCK alone? How come, after all the years GLOCK has been on the market other pistol companies are still in business?

This has a simple answer... People buy other brands because Glock brainwashes them into buying other brands....it's all a brilliant ploy and really shows you how superior Glock really is... i mean in addition to being the best firearm ever assymbled they can also perform Jedi mind tricks....

For question 2 -- it's pretty simple as well -- because Glock owns all the other gun manufactures...it's true I read it on the internet. Wikipedia backs the claim up too.....

here's another fact for all you history buffs.... The atomic bomb wasn't dropped from a plane... it was fired from the poylmer frame of a G17....

It won't because it is more about the Indian than the arrow. As a civilian you can take a Glock factory armorer's course in your home town, and replace all the internals yourself for $80 every 50k rounds or so to keep a Glock in perfect condition. H&K hates you, so you can't find the parts let alone a competent gunsmith.

But is what we're really saying here is an arrow turned and feathered by HK will fly straighter than an arrow turned and feathered by Glock.... just one of those things -- The Steelers are better than the Packers...it's not to say that the Packers aren't good but the Steelers are just better.

I think that we've had all the entertainment that we can stand - it's time to let this thread slowly sink back into the mists of history....
