ammo identification

Not sure if this is the right forum for this so let me know if I need to move it, but it looks like rifle ammo so I thought I would start here.

Found this box (see attachment) in a gun case I purchased at a gun show a while back and was not completely sure what it was. From looking around comparing things it makes me think it's 8mm Mauser maybe but the "7,9 mm" marking on the box is making it hard for me to look up. Just wanted to be sure what it is and was thinking someone on here could answer it real fast. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the input, as far as markings on the bottom of the case, there are some symbols but nothing that looks numerical. I'll see if I can get a pic to focus later tonight.

Thanks all, looks like I need to start looking for a Mauser now..... have seen some RC K98's floating around the gun shows and they only look to get more expensive each time I go so finding the ammo must me a sign. Thanks again...
