Cheapest Krink copy FA one can make?

My best friend has the hots for a Krinkov? Krinnkof? He has a few NFA items now, but wants to know how cheap he can get into a full auto AK47?

Most of what I have seen for transferable AKs is north of $15K.

that's so ridiculous, that the cost would be that high for a simple AK, just because it's automatic. we "in the industry" don't even use FA fire, unless you're providing suppressing fire, and that's usually done with a 249 or 240.

South Africans buy AK's in FA for $200 us!! Blahhh yeah, my buddy budgeted for $15k. He knows how expensive this stuff is.

What *exactly* does he want? "Krinkov" isn't an actual name for any specific gun. Just a short-barreled AK of any kind? Short-barreled AK with some kind of folding stock? Short barreled AK with a side-folding stock? The "real-deal" AKS-74U which has many parts not common to its big brother AKS-74?

Does he want a gun that's pretty much as original? Or a "Krinkov" type gun that a builder has assembled from various (altered) parts?

If he is just after a specific price and already knows the ballpark then he needs to just shop around like one would for anything.

Well it's not because a gun is FA, they used to be quite reasonable. It's because of the poison pill Sen. Hughes slipped into the FOPA in 1986. It capped the supply so prices have been going up ever since.
