I have covetted this gun since it was introduced by S&W. I love the looks even fondled, i mean handled one at the local gun shop. They were $499 and I could not bring myself to do it. I also was not sure of the .380 cartrige. I, like many people thought bigger is alway better, but I guess I have matured somewhat on what I think is necessary and what really will pass mustard.
Anyway, I was at the local Gander Mountain actually looking for a used deer rifle for my daughter. I didn't see anything that floated my boat so I went the pistol counter and was looking at their "pocket guns". Ruger, Kel-tec and yes, the Bodyguard 380. They had it marked for $379 which really got my interest. I have an agreement with the wife that I will not ad anymore pistols unless I get rid of one. The one pistol I have that I do not really carry anymore was a Kahr P45. The is a good quality pistol but was picky with ammo. Would light strike almost everything but Federal. I've had this pistol right at 4 yrs so I went home packed the thing up and went back to see what the where willing to do. He offered me $325 for the Kahr and I was not blown away by that and hesitated. He then sweeten the deal by taking $70 dollars off the price of the body guard 380 pistol. Hmmmmmm.
I bit and took the deal. The bodyguard was now $309 which I thought was a good price. We completed the transaction along with some ammo and we were done.
I went home took it apart and cleaned and lubed it for a trip to the range. This thing was a pleasure to shoot and was far more accurate that I had anticipated. The laser worked great and the rounds were hitting 1/2 inch low at 15 yrds. I put 150 rounds of FMJ and HP ammo and it ate everthing. No failures to feed or eject. I could not be happier with this purchase. The thing fits into my blue jean front pocket with no trouble at all.
