Cats and Guns.....Don't ask......

, but the first kitty could be attached to the gun as a bayonnet. Nice Claws...

Cats need claws? Don't tell our last cats that because they were declawed in the front. Arwen & Mithrandir were Tabbys of unknown origins and strays my parents picked up right before I was born. Arwen was a skinny tuxedo tabby and Mithrandir was so big he could pass for a raccoon. Arwen died of kidney failure when she was 14. Mithrandir died from the benzene tainted cat food that went around in 2007, he was 20.

When they were 13yrs old we had a German Shepherd & a Rotwiler that belonged to our neighbors roaming the neighborhood chasing & biting people and livestock. One day these two dogs walked up to our back porch and the door was open but the screen pulled to. Mithrandir was sunning himself in the opening when they walked up. He started barking at them, which drew Arwen to the door and she started screeching at them. This in turn got my attention, which lead me to go get my pellet rifle and pellets. As I opened the screen to get the rifle barrel out the door, our cats jumped on the dogs. Arwen tore into the German Shepherd with her hind claws and teeth, scratching up its face and drawing blood from both ears & several spots on the face. Mithrandir had to have been part lion because he was swinging his front paws at the Rot with a vengeance, landing several audible thumps to its head dropping it to the ground and then he tore in on its neck with his mouth and bite the dog so bad he made it squeal like a stuck pig several times. The dogs beat a hasty retreat and our cats returned to sunning themselves inside the screen door.

Now, to put these dogs & our cats into context. These dogs had scared every other dog in the neighborhood including 3 St. Bernards & a Great Dane. They chased horses & cows with ease. Ours cats were lounge lizards and afraid to meet any new human visitors. If it involved something beyond the food bowl, potty, or sleeping in someones lap count them out.

Don't mess with my Kalishnakitty. She's loaded for Bear.

That cat *looks* like a bear.

I'm sure we have all heard of "hunting dogs" but when I was farming back in North Dakota, I had a "hunting cat." Blackbirds are a scourge of the earth for sunflower farmers (I lost about 50% of my yield on one sunflower field to those SOBs) so killing those damn things was great sport and something I could write off on my taxes at the same time. We had one female calico barn cat that found that gunfire equals an easy meal and every time I stepped out of the house to shoot blackbirds out of the trees, she was right there waiting for the bodies to hit the ground! Great hunting partner. LOL

Very nice photos. Will show my wife when back.

AR27: Is your kitty training to liberate Libya?

Ole Humpback: Somebody should have told the dog's owners that they would be shot next time they threatened somebody.
I jog with a knife (4" serrated blade) hidden in my waistband, both in the neighborhood and on the Shelby Farms dirt trails, though people always keep G. Shephards, Dobies etc chained or on a leash.

You had some very brave cats. They must have been the "Band of Cats", whether with the 101st, 82nd Airborne, etc.

I've got tons of pictures of my cats, but none with guns. My last cat died a little over 2 years ago. My last dog died 7 years ago. This thread is making me want another cat...and dog.
CTPhil's cat looks a lot like one of mine that got hit by a car and killed many years ago.

I also wouldn't mind a Sig P229 like Untainted's

The AK74 is so rugged and reliable it'll even function when the action is full of cat hair

Kalashnakitty just knew she'd left a box of 5.45x39 in here somewhere

I've been meaning to get a picture of that cat with the ammo stash; she likes to poke her head in that closet as soon as the door's open.

My girlfriend's cat doesnt like guns much but that may be because i use it to help me practice hitting moving targets.

Only kidding.
