I've done a bit of "dressing up" of one of my CZ-82s. I won't go into great detail about the gun itself, as you can read more in my range report: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=570639

I sent it off to Ron Mahovsky and had him perform a Metalife refinishing job on it. While it was away, I ordered a pair of custom grips from Marschal's. Finally, I ordered a 3-pack of Wolff springs and went with the 16lb recoil spring.

First, the AFTER pictures: :D

And of course, for reference, the BEFORE pictures:

I can't wait to get it out to the range and see if the new grips and heavier spring help the performance. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out.

*NOTE: Just to be clear, I did NOT refinish the CZ myself. I sent it off to Ron Mahovsky and had the "Metalife" refinishing process completed on it. You can find more info here: http://www.mahovskysmetalife.com/

Also, the grips came from Gustav & Dennis Marschalko and can be found here: http://www.marschalgrips.com/cz82/cz82.html

Finger-groove grips on a CZ-82...hmm.

Before I saw those first few images, I couldn't imagine how the excellent ergonomics of the CZ-82 could improve, but now it looks possible.
I was also playing around with the idea of having my CZ-82 nickel plated. This looks like another intriguing option.

I agree with the others; that is a fine looking pistol.

Very nice!....At first I thought your import stamp had been removed but I see the importer put it on the bottom of the slide. Wish mine was there!

Just plan to leave to mine as is for now. Will consider a refurb finish when she starts looking really bad. I've seen some really nice looking refurbed 82s and some I wondered why they bothered. :scrutiny:

Beautiful job on a GREAT little pistola... Looks SUPER!!

Awhile back I was able to buy a NIB '89 with original army holster, etc... Been debating a 'beautification' project but decided against it.. until now.

Have a bunch of CZs and this little baby has one of the sweetest triggers ever!!!... ENJOY

That looks awesome!

I wish I had the time to do a good refinish on my 2 CZ82's. They could use a little TLC.

Fine-looking gun, both before AND after.

I'm after one, but can't find one locally, and am hemming and hawing about going through the hoops to order one and have it transferred.

Great looking pistol, both in regards to the new finish and those great looking grips. I have had Ron do a number of my guns with the Metalife finish and I have always been very pleased with the results.

Very nice! :)

I did a "tactical" two-tone on mine - a "Multi-Cam" finish.

That's an O.D. slide & FDE frame. Re-did the grips in black as well. Looks like a new CZ 82.

This little 82 is a great shooter.

Awesome looking gun CZ-guy! By far the best looking CZ-82 I've seen. I've thought about getting the paint stripped off of mine and having it blued, but I have to admit the silver/stainless "look" (even if it is a coating) certainly looks great there.

Check this one out!

For my liking, this is one of the best looking ones I've seen....CZ-guy's looks great also but this one still trips my trigger more. Usually I prefer wood grips and am not all that interested in two-tone but this one just looks perfect to me, with the aesthetic lines of the 82. :)

That looks great, and I like those grips.

But be careful with that extractor pin, mine came out like that at the range, and the next shot caused the extractor to fly off. I found it, put it back in, and staked the pin in place.

Interestingly, the empty shell still ejected pretty far.
