Is the XD9 a good design? Roll pin problems?

Google "Glock KaBoom." Do Glocks suck? Is Glock's design flawed? No. Same with the XD.

No, it's a lousy design. Any gun that uses roll pins in its construction is most likely a cheap, poorly designed throwaway gun.

This sounds like a typical internet question. The answer is that the XD is pretty good. All designs have pros and cons. The only real drawback I see to the XD is the extractor design, but it works well enough. I don't think the XD is the best striker-fired pistol on the market, but it's pretty good.

@ Z-Michigan: I was thinking of Sigs. All my cheap, throwaway Sigs use roll pins, especially those poor-quality German made Sigs with the stamped slides... big double roll pin holding the breechblock in the slide. Must be a European potmetal clunker...
