I am looking for something lighter, thinner, and shorter than my G19 to carry EDC. It has to be a semi-auto also. I was thinking single stack. Preferably in 9mm only because of ammo price but over 380 and a bit more power. $600 would be the absolute highest I would pay.

I was thinking of the following:

Ruger LC9 $389 locally
Kahr PM9 $599 locally
Kahr CM9 $??
Kahr CW9 $??
Sig P290 $???

Baby Glocks are too big and I am looking for something smaller (I do not know if the above guns are smaller than the baby Glock).

I really like my Kahr PM9. I also like my Kahr K9 but it's considerably heavier.

A 26 too big? Half inch off the barrel/slide end, full inch off the grip as compared to your 19? Have you tried one in a true thin IWB holster, a dedicated little holster for the little Glocks? They carry entirely differently than a 19/23 in a proper holster, and then you don't get stuck with a larger holster than your pistol.

I used the FIST #1AK for my 27, it was incredible how easy that was to carry. Board shorts and a slim fitting t-shirt easy.

Otherwise, I'd suggest one of the little Kahrs, probably the CM9 or the PM9 if you can find one in your price range (I don't really know what they cost), or the PPS.

Thin is important. I EDC my G19 during fall/winter/spring. I sold my Ruger LCP, and now wait-listed for a Ruger LC9.

You have a decent list in the OP. I had a Kahr CW9 but had too many mishaps with accidental depression of the mag-release button. It drove me crazy. I suppose if the Kahr was my ONLY gun then I would have eventually figured out how to avoid that mag-release. My grip has been/is the same on almost all my other pistols, so I wasn't too excited about having to do something special/extra just for the Kahr.

The tiniest things that go wrong at the range can be a real mental game-changer when/if you need the gun in action. I desire flawless operation so I can put all my energy into accuracy practice.

Best of luck.

NG IV,

The G26 isn't too big but to thick.

I just came from the LGS. They just sold their last LC9. They didn't have any cm9 but had a PM40 which felt really nice. They also had the Sig P290. The Kahr felt better and the Sig was $675 !!!

I also felt the Walther PPS which was around $525 if I could recall. Felt nice but I don't know if I am crazy about the looks (sorry looks are important to me).

CM9 might be what I need.

I'm looking to go to the CM9 myself, I carry a PT111 pro now but it seems too thick for what it is and the grip w/ finger extension is a little too long... I feel like the grip prints a little w/ a crossbreed supertuck IWB and jeans/tshirt, but maybe I'm just self conscious. I'm thinking a single stack like the CM9 or PF9 if I cheap out will be the way to go.

Surprizingly, the G19 and G36 are the same size. I put my G36 in the safe when I got the kahr CW9. You don't even know you are carrying it and it never prints under a T-shirt. I even carry OWB with nary a problem. You also get the benefit of a full grip.

Try a Crossbreed Supertuck at 5:00. The G26 is no more concealable than the 19 on me. You can also cut the 19 frame down to fit 26 mags flush.

Otherwise:
Kahr PM9, P9, MK9, K9, P380
Dan Wesson CCO
S&W M&P 340

I understand the glock thickness as well we have a g-17 and 27. I also have a kahr cw-9 and a KT pf-9 and as nice as the kahr line can be a carry a KTpf-9. Light weight helps alot with comfortible carry but also after 2 years of carry with 6 rounds fire before i carried it and many more rounds fire it has had zero problems. Current prices around here are also 240 bucks at a good dealer. The kahr and kt are basicly the same size. The kt just does not print in a pocket as much because of the 13oz weight.

I have a Kahr CW9 with 2500+ rounds through it and have not had any problems at all. It has a fantastic double action only trigger that is long but super smooth. While it is heavier than something like the Kel-Tec PF9, I have never found its weight to be a problem and have carried it all day without any discomfort. I also really like the bar-dot sights and find them very accurate. Another thing is that I can take this to the range and put a couple hundred rounds down range and still want to shoot. That is not trying to be macho, but a testament to the gun. Everyone who as ever shot it has said that the recoil was much less than they had anticipated. Also the gun unbelievably easy to conceal, I can wear just a t-shirt and not print. However, I would not consider it a pocket gun.

Now that is what it does for me, go to a gun shop and see what it does for you. Good luck.

When I decided my G23 was too thick and heavy, I bought a Kahr PM9. its been great. I picked up a CW9 just for the heck of it and have had no problems with it either. I can carry either Kahr in a CrossBreed MiniTuck and forget its there.

In winter I carry a custom 1911 held up by suspenders and a serous belt under heavy loose clothing.

In summers, I carry a Kel Tec PF 9 in a sticky holster under a loose tee or polo shirt.

kahr's are outrageous now, I would never buy another one new at the prices that they are going for. Kel tec pf-9 is my choice for a small gun similar in size and capacity to kahr. better triggers than the old kel tecs, good sights, accurate and 100% reliable. I carry mine as a BUG without hesitation. They are at the right price too.

I took some pics to compare the Kahr K9 with the Glock19 for you. The K9 is the same size(except weight) as the P/CW9, trim even more off going to a PM/CM9. The K9 is my EDC and significantly easier and more comfortable to carry than any Glock including the 26. I appendix ItW carry and any gun over 6" sticks in all the wrong places :(

Thanks for the pics MikePain. The K9 looks significantly thinner which is great.

Take a look at the SR9c it feels very thin in the grip and is still a double stack.
1.27" across the safety levers. 10 rounds, or 17 with the second magazine.
