Need to find a mfg. who makes a .454 head in 250 or 255gr for my guns. All I could find are the .452 heads.Need them in lead.

Whut's a head? Oh, I know, it sits on my shoulders and keeps my ears apart!:neener:

Proper term is BULLET.

What makes you think you need .454 bullets? Normal 45 colt bore size is .452. Unless you have a very old colt SAA, then you WILL need .454 bullets.

The cylinder chamber throat size determines what size bullets to use.
Many new .45 Colts have over-size throats.

If .454" bullets fit the throats with a tight slip fit, that's what you need to use, regardless of bore size.

If .452" bullets fit the throats, that's what you need to use.

However it will do no good to pick a .454" bullet because that's what the bore slugs, if you have .452" throats.
Because those .454" bullets will be sized to .452" when you shoot them through the .452" throats anyway.

I've head excellent results using Hornady 255gr FP lead bullets, specified as .454". All my SAAs, mod.73 replica and SAA replicas shoot them well.

Missouri Bullet Co. is on the Internet and offer their bullets in three hardness and in your needed size as well. I hope that this is of some help. :)
