Yugo M57

Greetings, Just recieved my handpicked m57 from sog and it looks to be never uniussued and un fired, but when i try to rack back the slide it will not go until i cock the hammer, i cleaned the gun really well removed the mag and tried racking still no only when i cock the hammer, am i doing something wrong? is this normal for this gun? Iam new to this forum, and would love some help

The Tokarev half cock locks the slide. You must yank the slide briskly to overcome it...or just cock the hammer first.

I just picked up two of these. One is great, the other - it seemed fine when I took it apart but I can't get the barrel bushing back on all the way. Looks like the guide rod is about 1/64th too long or is somehow being prevented from moving aft. Any suggestions.

Perhaps a dumb question, Mike, but is the little "lever" at the back end of the guide rod folded up?...or back? (I hope that makes sense)

Anyway, I just figured it out. Very simple. The center portion of the back of the guide rod doesn't always want to line up where it meets the barrel. Have to wiggle it a bit an make sure they line up.
