Because they are very good pistols. Accurate and reliable. For the money they are hard to beat. The fact that I don't see 10 others at the range is a nice bonus. I shopped around for quite a while when looking at 9mm pistols. I narrowed my choices to the CZ 75 and the Sig P226. Both are excellent. I settled on CZ because of the value.

I was shopping for my first center fire pistol.I had decided the 1911 fit my hand the best. Couldn't find one I wanted but happened upon a used cz75b. I knew nothing about CZ, but I bought the pistol because I liked the way it felt in my (large) hand. It remains my favorite 9mm. I have a Kadet conversion kit that changes the gun to a .22LR in about 15 seconds... very handy.

CZ makes good stuff, their .22 rifles are the best bang for the buck and I think their pistols are also. I'm tempted to buy a 1911 in 9mm but it's hard to justify when I have this 75b.

You should buy one because they are a well made pistol and carry an economical price tag. A new one will last you a life time and you will pass it on the your progenies. I find the grip fits my hand far better than other pistols, but it may feel different to you. If at all possible, try to shoot one before purchasing to form your own opinion. Let us know your decision.

I have owned several. I would say they are the most accurate out of the box pistols you can get in the 400-600$$ range.

The generally have great triggers as well. You can also shoot hot loads out of them without any modifications.

the CZ75 - P07 Duty is the gun a glock 19 wishes it could be.

I have 2.. a CZ P07, and a CZ SP-01 tactical... I wouldnt want to get rid of either of them....

I love my CZ phantom. The accuracy and reliability of a CZ with the weight of a polymer framed gun. Can't go wrong there.

Just wish magazines were a little cheaper.

I have a CZ 82 in 9x18 Makarov which was my first CZ. I was astonished at what a great shooter this banged up milsurp gun was. My next CZ was the CZ 75 D PCR in 9MM Luger. I saw this compact beauty in the used case at a range where I shoot. In perfect shape (other than the white sites being a little yellow). Took that beauty home for $399 with the case and 3 mags. It won't be long before I get myself a full sized 75 or 85. These are great guns. The triggers can be a bit gritty and creepy but it doesn't seem to effect accuracy. I did some research when I bought my PCR and I was hard pressed find any negative comments about CZ's.

I have several Cz's in both 9omm and 40 S&W. Theyu have beemn totally reliable with a wide variety of ammo and possess superb ergonomics. Their only minus for carry purposes is their weight but their all steel construction is hard to beat.

Usmc-1,

I have been a died in the wool 1911 fan for over 30 years. Bought my first CZ-75 about 5 years ago . . . still have it. I now have a bunch of CZ's. I am a former engineer and I was so impressed with the basic design, I have started a business specializing in CZ's.

As with any mass produced product being litigation compliant, there are some performance short comings. But these short comings have been addressed and you build a personalized CZ with stellar DA or SA trigger pulls for not a lot of money. CZ's are durable, tough, accurate, ergonomic beyond reproach, affordable, and will last a couple of lifetimes.

Yea, they're OK

What you plan to use it for should drive which one you choose.

They have excellent range/competition pistols, house pistols and SD carry pistols.

Depending on 'your' ergonomics, some can be used for all three. :D

i agree with all the good things said so far. i have a 75, 85 and a P01. along with a few of their 40's!.....:)

I have the PCR in 9mm and the CZ40P. I love them both. The design handles recoil better than any other gun I shoot and I am not recoil sensitive. They are also the most accurate of all my pistols. Both of mine have the alloy frame so the weight is a little less but every collector needs to have at least one in their group.

Ditto, 4 CZ's and love them all. Have to admit I had 7 but a few had to go just because I wasn't shooting them and they where close to duplicates of others. IE sold my P01 in favor of keeping my PCR.

Anyone want to tell me why I should buy one?
1. Reliability. Mine has never experienced any kind of misfeed.
2. Cost. Great value/dollar.
3. Nice machining. Those Czech's know something about producing nice metal.
4. Controls right where they need to be.

But I didn't get one!
I got two.

I own one since the 80s and still love and shoot it.
Never ever had an issue with it...

And of course it is also nice live in Prague, Czech Republic where you live in the guns "homecountry" :D

They are such nice pistols. I think it's comparable to a Beretta 92/M9 but the best part is that it's not!

Sometimes it's good to be slightly different then other pistols, then if you are like me, you like to be different than run of the mill 75's

Extremely accurate and soft shooting. Except I'm not sure I would want to carry a full size all steel pistol all the time.

Great Pistols!!...
Started buying 'em and building my collection about eight years ago when they were REALLY great values!
CZs have always made an extremely accurate, dependable and durable pistola. Some of my most accurate pistols are CZs.
Sometimes triggers are alittle rough, some times perfect... nothing a couple hundred rounds won't iron out... Or a visit to schmeky for some 'tuning'.
Either way, find a model that works for YOUR needs and build the collection. A good progression... 75B, P-01/PCR, SP-01, 97B...
and from there, you're on your own.
Also, one of the best 'little-gun' bargins is the CZ-82 (still about $200)... great shoot and super accurate.
You'll very rarely go wrong with a CZ!!

BTW: Micha, that's one beautiful pre-B!!!
