I just got a Daniel Defense and I need a strap! Suggestions? Sources would be great too.

Strap? What's a strap? You mean a sling?

There's only one worth buying...Vickers sling from Blue Force Gear.

Another vote for the Vickers Sling. The Victory model is the most economical at about $40-50. I have it on 2 ARs and its a perfect no frills 2 point adjustable "tactical" style sling.

Viking Tactics (for a 2 point modern sling)

or just a GI web sling from appleseedstore for a rock-solid basic sling (great for position shooting or just as a carry strap).

Do your self a favor before spending big bucks and check out the Boonie packer slings. Im very pleased with them and they are a GREAT deal!

Check out a Blackhawk tactical sling. For the price its great and it comes with several mounting options.......

gee's in the ARMY - say the guys who started the whole thing....
they still use a
Plain braided nylon sling and two silly metal buckles...

I would study up on what you want it for,
if it's just to be 'taki Kool'
GO buy the biggest, koolest, most blackest. most expensive POS...

Or consider what you actually NEED and find what fill the bill.

This is not by choice. Remember, "lowest bidder" always needs to be considered. The military isn't going to spend $80 on a VTAC or VCAS sling for each troop. The average military web sling costs about $12 commercially; the military gets them in bulk for no more and a couple dollars (if that) each. I carried that sling on my A2, M4 and DMR, and I HATED that sling. Instead of asking the average troop what they prefer, ask Delta, SF, PJs or DEVGRU what they prefer.

FWIW, I've used a myriad of slings, and the BlueForceGear Vickers VCAS padded sling with QD swivels is by far the best one I've used. It's comfortable, durable, effective, reliable, and easier to rapidly adjust and manipulate than any other 2-point sling I've ever used.

It also works exceptionally well at keeping the rifle down to the side during secondary transitions.

most of our guys had a 6" loop of 550 cord with a carabiner they used to clip to their vests should loop.
It was pretty common to see various combinations of military web slings, 550 cord and 100mph tape in-theater. Seemed like everyone who really did use their sling with any regularity had to modify it.
Most of us bought aftermarket. It originally started with "some", but then we started working with the Secret Squirrels and it turned into "most" when everyone else saw how much better they were. Of course, the commercially available slings then (2002-2004) were not as good as those available today.

For my carbine, I use a Blackhawk! Single Point Storm Sling. Inexpensive (can be found for well under $30)...and it WORKS. I like that it uses a dual-bungee design. This provides a "balanced" feel which works better for me. Many single point sling only have one side that is elastic and as a result, they pull in one direction.

For my 20" rifle, I use the tried and true universal GI canvas two-point sling:

I tried one of those Dieter single-point bungee slings, and I went to do a secondary transition and as I was moving, the rifle bounced around a lot and sprung up and cracked me in the mouth. I almost chipped some teeth. Needless to say, it went off the weapon right away after that.

Single-point slings are handy for shoulder transitions, but they're designed for use with subguns. They work decently with shorter SBRs (like a Mk18), but if you go to a longer rifle, they have a lot of failings.
If you fancy a single-point, look into Magpul's MS3 sling (out soon). It uses no bungee, so it won't flop around.
