I'm leaving for Boot camp on Monday. Needless to say I won't be checking in on the forum for 13 weeks. Be safe guys.

I'd say have fun, but I don't know too many people who enjoyed basic, so I'll just stick with goodluck and thanks for your commitment to your country.

Congratulations on making a great decision , and best of luck too you . drop us a line when you graduate, and show off that Eagle Globe Anchor .

Right on man, keep your head up, remember, no matter what, their job is to try and break you, but mostly to build you up. Don't give up, don't stand out ;)

I'll be enlisting hopefully here pretty soon for the USMC as well.

usmcpoolee,

Congratulations and good luck.
Never give up.
Keep your eyes and ears open and your mouth shut.
Learn everything you can.
Earn the respect and admiration of your comrades at arms.
If you do your best you will become one of the best.

Congrats and thank you for your commitment. Been there (Paris Island) and done that 30 years ago.
If it's still like it was, it is broken down in 3 phases. Phase one: It will tear you down, no matter who you think you are or who your daddy is. Phase 2: You will recuperate and recover. Phase 3: It will build you.
I promise it will be the toughest thing you will ever do, then love afterwards. I would never trade the experience, but don't necessarily want to do it again.
When you finish, get in touch with us. Then you will have earned the "Semper Fi Brother" status that only a few can claim or understand.
Good luck future brother, Mac.

goodfeet.com orthotic stores.they will try to hit you 250.00 for the orthotics, sob story them for 100.00 they are good orthotics and will greatly help you feet and legs through bootcamp.they have stores in san diego.

I was on the Island about four years ago and while I was there absolutely HATED it but now looking back it wasnt so bad. But I wish you the best of luck. Semper FI

Good luck, and remember to keep yo0ur wits about you, the physical side is hard, but most of it is mind games.

The Marine Corps never gets easier, you just get better at it. There's a reason there are so few of us.
Be fast, be organized, be loud when they demand it, stay silent to survive. You're greatest enemy there is yourself, and you should have complete control over him. Good luck.

You made a good choice that will change the rest of your life, and for that I thank you. Just know that it's not going to be fun while you're there, but when it's all done and you've earned that EGA, you'll be a part of the brotherhood. Plus you'll look back and laugh at a lot of stuff that happens there.

I'm sure it's changed in the 11 years since I was there but the basics will be the same. I've always wondered what they substitute for all the time we spent shining our boots, especially before inspections.

Keep your head down and your ears open, work together, do you best to get to the top but remember to pull your team mates with you; you can not do that by climbing on them.

Great decision to join and thanks for joining the military brotherhood! Lastly, keep your chin up, your head down, and don't ever quit... unless it is to join the Army ;)

Good luck!
