kicked out for ccw?

I have carried concealed for approximately 25 years and I have never once had anyone make any comment about this even people who are known to me to be very anti-gun. I carry a S&W 642, 5 to stay alive so to speak. After so many years I no longer think about it I just dress in a manner that my side arm is concealed. In all that time I have never had to draw my side arm and I pray I never will have the need to. The primary objective or reason to carry concealed is so no one knows you are packing and for protection. Just my 2 cents worth from the Big Sky Country.... Be safe all and never forget your brain is your most powerful weapon......Westy39

For all of those who carry concealed and have never had it come up: my wife and I both carry and whenever we go anywhere public (out to eat, usually) we try to see how many people we can "make" (where we live in Upstate NY, approximately 1 in 5 people has a concealed carry permit, believe it or not). So far, we've made a good half-dozen (we thought they looked like CCWers, and then they printed). So just because no one's ever said anything doesn't mean no one's noticed! :D

My wife's better at it than I am.

This goes hand in hand with watching for fast moving little kids; one of these nearly knock himself silly when his head smacked into my handgun as he raced down the lane not watching where he was going.

Both times that I know I've been made were kids -- my own kids. My daughter climbing on my lab in church and my son making a fake tackle/punch in the hip on another occasion when I was in dress clothes and hitting his hand on my IWB carry. The son was older, and we'd discussed CCW prior so he just shook his hand and smiled. The daughter was much younger, and seemed to realize something was wrong, but didn't say anything loud enough to alert anybody else.

I've carried so many years I don't notice. If anyone has noticed nothing has ever been said. Most people I know do take it for granted. It doesn't bother the local LEOs that I might meet. My weapon is concealed but in my area a handgun discussion might mean a "walk out back" of the establishment for a quick shooting match or just try out a new handgun. Your own attitude will have a lot to do with a possible detection of your handgun.

This.

I never get it when people are made, and their snarky response is something borderline hostile.
Nothing wrong with someone else having good eyes, folks. It's not like carrying a gun lawfully is a crime.

Heck, I have a good friend that get's upset with me if I am NOT carrying when I go to his house!

Yes, just got "kicked out" of my bakery job, was going to leave anyway with the past 4 weeks being less than 20hrs, I could not find my pocket holster that day so it was IWB and bent down too far for some plates and a co worker made me, funny thing is we live in the South.

I dont have mine yet. So it has not happened to me.

Butbim wondering. Has anyone ever found out (one way or another) that you carry, and asked ou not to bring it in there home or place of business? Maybe even kicked out / refused service?

To some, guns are "evil" and i can picture this happening eventually.

To me, part of conceal, isbso that everyone around dont know you are carrying. but sometimes things happen. I eont plan on telling anyone besides my wife and best friend (who is also getting his concealed soon). But the though still crosses my mind "what if".

Would love to hear some stories and whatbyour reply was.

How could someone know, even with just a slight print of the gun, that it was ACTUALLY a GUN and not just something mistaken for a gun? I mean any number of other items could easily fill its place. For them to ask you outright if it's a gun (IMHO) is out of line. Refused service?? Let them and I would take my business elsewhere with no anger, fight or debate whatsoever. I am sure they will survive without my business, but then so will I without theirs.

I'm 70, been carrying since I was 9 ( open carry, off to the woode after snakes, and squirrels).Different times, different places. have been CCW the rest of the time (60yrs +-) Never been called out about it. Frankly, don't give a damn.

I open carry everywhere and have never been lawfully kicked out of anyplace. A cop kicked me out of a restaurant, against the owner's wishes, because he didn't like me open carrying. The restaurant owner called me personally and asked me, my family and my friends to please come back and feel free to bring our guns. About 20 of us total went back the following weekend for a luncheon. The Chief of Police was invited for a social interaction, but also warned that we were invited guests on private property and if any police attempted to interfere they would be subject to a lawsuit. No cops showed up (that we could tell, anyway).

If you gun is concealed, why would anyone have any reason to say anything to you? Doesn't concealed mean they don't know you have the gun?

I conceal carry daily, I have a ruger LCP that fits perfectly in that little watch/coin pocket on a pair of blue jeans, only the butt of the pistol sticks out , and I pull my t-shirt over it, and carry nothing in the big pocket on that sid, havent been made yet, and am in place for a very quick draw.

I got kicked out of dicks for oc even though they have no sign against it.Well I wasn't kicked out I was given the choice to check my weapon with them or take it to the car so I told them it was ok I can go somewhere else.Turns out the woman who escorted me to the door got fired for doing the same thing to a off duty police officer when she saw him printing his cc.I guess after several angry words were exchanged managment found out what she was up to. She was removed from her position. She worked at the gun counter handing over guns and ammo all day.But hay I got a written apology and a 10 dollar gift card for my next visit.

The only time I've been made is when my idiot friends randomly lift up my shirt and start laughing. Luckily, they only do it when we're at their place or mine. If they ever pulled that crap in public, we'd no longer be friends.

I had a manager of a local business who I was friendly with once tell me if she ever saw me carrying she'd kick me out of the store. I had an account there, told her to look it up, see how much I'd spent there over the year so far, and think about if that's really what she wanted to do. It never came up again.

That's interesting. Where in Western WA are you?

I dress "business casual"

I dress like a surf bum most days. I still get asked "are you a cop?" One of my kids pre school teacher's asked if I was working undercover. The weather turned warm and out came the shorts and flip flops.

Enough people assume that I'm a cop or "a narc" that nobody bothers me when I print.. Today at the gas station the cashier kept giving me weird glances. When I got to the counter she whispered, "officer, I think your holster is showing." I pulled my shirt down and said thank you.

I was carrying OWB. My shirt had caught on a shelf. I didn't think to look down and check my holster. The shelf had caught me high up near the sleeve seam. So, I just checked for a hole and kept going. I didn't realize I had a half inch of nylon showing.

By the way I am not a cop. I work for a police department but, I am not a commissioned LEO. I just didn't feel like explaining it to the cashier.

I wish we had open carry here.. florida, eh. What can you do?

My real fear is based on this. If we had open carry, and my concealed showed, so what? Kiss my hairy butt.

However. The way i understand it at least (correct me if im wrong) you can technically get in big troubke if the wrong person see's your gun, or an obvious print.

because i don't have a ccw permit i open carry (its legal in ohio without a permit). so i rarely carry my pistol concealed (only in places or situtions where i may need my gun but i don't want it showing, like helping a friend move in the crappy parts of town). nobody notices when i conceal and few even notice when i carry openly. i have only been stopped 3 times by cops while oc'ing. and never because of a MWAG call ether.

Most people are wrapped up in their own problems and wouldnt notice unless your piece fell out. It does happen. Get a holster that will hold the gun in even if you are upside down. And dont take it off, even in the bathroom. A lot of people leave a gun in a public restroom. Sounds stupid I know but it happens more than often.

I see way too many up here carry (as the ability is quite easy) buy a ten dollar one size fits all holster. It barely secures the firearm much less allow a decent draw if needed.

I've only seen one person that was CC'ing. Thats only because he basically flashed it in my face to put his wallet away. I was ticked but couldn't do anything because I was working.

Never while carrying concealed. Before we had CCW we had open carry, and I was asked to leave three places. All three went out of business not too long aftwards. :)
