full auto glock

So the obligatory question is: I'm planning a hiking trip in Oregon. Would a fully automatic Glock 17 with a C-mag loaded with incendiary rounds be adequate for bear defense? I know I should wear bells and carry bear spray. But I'm worried about what happens if the bear comes upwind of me.

Lol I wondered what video he was talking about, i walked out of the back room of my lgs an he was hanging out talking about this vid, I didn't bother to ask, but now I know

A local gunshop/range, a few years back, had a Glock rep put on a show -- and it included a chance to shoot a full-auto Glock. It was a Glock 18, and it was a minor handful, and you needed to be warned about how to handle it.

(The 18 looks just like the 17, except for a fire selector on the rear of the slide. I suspect the gun mentioned above was an 18, but as someone metioned, you can install a backplate on the end of the slide that allows the selection of fire mode.)

A reasonably skilled pistol shooter, say a "B" class USPSA/IPSC shooter, should be able to keep a full magazine on an IPSC silhouette at 10 yards with a F/A Glock in 9mm.

That guy watches waaaaayyyyy too many action movies. I'm sorry but the silly catch phrases (ie. "Thats what the <deleted> I'm talkin' about.") killed it for me.

If Nutnfancy were Russian, these two could be good buddies.

thank you for removing that comment posted by another forum member, about women and children, its crazy what kind of imagination people have, and to have the nerve to post it here.

The local range has a FA Glock rental. I've never shot it but it sure seems to put the permagrin on folks' faces.

nutnfancy is more russian than that kid, probably does a better accent too.

The IDEA of a full-auto weapon is great, but the practical aspects -- if only the COST -- are something else. You could go through $50 worth of ammo in minute or two. That's NOT the way I want to spend my shooting dollars.

And then there's the guys who shoot 50 caliber belt-fed guns. What budgets they must have...

i would pay $50 to shoot a full auto pistol once, just to get a permagrin like magoo said. any firearm in general that you shoot its still money down the tube

What's with the comparisons to Nutnfancy? One of 'em shoots cool guns in a funny and entertaining manner. The other one is a gun and knife freak that records and publishes his barely edited, never ending inner monologue.

I think FPSRussia is more comparable to Hickok45... only with a bit of a different style/demographic. :) They both shoot a lot of cool guns in a cool setting, burning lots of ammo to blow up creative and reactive targets. Yeah, FPS plays a character. So? The only thing that irritates me about his videos is his piss poor trigger discipline.

He actually acknowledges his bad trigger discipline in a different video. Ever hear of Epic Mealtime? They did a crossover w/ FPS Russia, where 'Kyle' took Harley Morenstein, the ringleader of Epic Mealtime, to an indoor gun range to shoot a MP5K and a FA Glock 19. "So first of all, always keep finger off of trigger, you see me do it sometimes because I am a**hole."

"Is that guy not wearing hearing protection?"
You are correct Too_pure, FPSrussia often doesn't wear hearing protection. In one of his videos he states his reason for doing so; when outdoors he believes they're usually not necessary.

In another video he states his reasons for his poor trigger discipline- apparently where he shoots all his videos/guns is his property and he owns quite a few acres? Not a good reason to be unsafe IMO, but whatever.

That epic meal time video made me cringe. Too many guns in too small a space with too many untrained, unsafe 12 year olds, in a harsh finish eating environment. blech.

I did really enjoy this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSp7CipN1pw
40mm machine gun! YESSS

I thought he was in the corner of some rental range in Georgia? I did some googling and I guess he used to be a huge Call of Duty fanatic then switched to the real thing.

Supposedly all this is rented weapons, a face accent, and rented property.

The prints are the easy part. The FFL and SOT you need first are where the work/money is at. They are a lot more fun with a stock.
