FNP-9M. It's the size the slightly larger standard FNP-9 should have been. 15 rounds in a slightly shorter grip and slightly shorter overall length, and it was available in DA/SA with and without a thumb safety, DAO, and SAO

CCW

I have about 5 that I rotate but right now I just picked up a Keltec PF9 and for the $, this is a great high value carry gun. Light as hell, accurate and shoots +p defensive rounds. Daddy likey!!! ;)

Easyg,

I like the looks of your SR9C, but that chamber loaded indicator is ridiculous. I like Ruger products and plan on picking up an SR1911, SP101 and Gunsite Scout very soon, but those lawyered-up chamber indicators suck donkeys.

I voted G19 though I don't even own one. I own it's 40 caliber cousin, the G23. But I believe the G19 is the greatest combination of firepower, compactness, reliability & simplicity ever designed in a handgun.

I have no qualms about saying the G19 is one of the best 5 handguns ever built.

Close second would be a Kahr PM9, and I don't own one of those either - but I will soon.

I like the Glock 29. Large pistol power in a small package. Accurate and reliable. When I don't use that one, I like the G27. Not as accurate as the G29, but it is a little lighter and more compact on the hip in summer.

Whereas the G29 feels just like a chopped G20, the G27 is a different animal compared to a fullsize pistol. Not as accurate and not as controllable, but given the size it fits the bill.

The G27 is about the smallest I'll carry... Any smaller and I couldn't shoot groups that satisfy me. The calibre is really a monster considering the size of the piece --the G26 is nice, but why bother when you can get the exact same pistol in .40?

To my knowledge there is no HK P30 compact.

The P30 is a compact gun. Essentially a Glock 19 with bit longer grip, which I prefer.
The P30L would be considered a full size gun.

Essentially 4" or longer barrel is the "normal" barrel length for 9mm. My P30's are the same size as the SIG 228's I Carried for years.

Good luck.

I carry a PF9 the most although I have 3 or 4 in carry rotation. The PF9 is the most concealable 9mm I have found and it has been reliable for almost 4 yrs now.

Another vote for the Kahr PM9. I've owned more than a few of the others, and they are all gone. Any double-stack is off the table for me.

If I am going to carry a 9mm, it will be a small, thin, light pocket pistol. I have yet to find anything better than the Kahr PM9.

If the DB9 is as good as my DB380 (it has been flawless for me), I will change. For winter the G26, or LC9 in the summer. I can carry the LC9 in running shorts and a Tshirt. DB9 is one I want to handle, waiting to read some feedback on it. GLad I waited on the 380. Intial ones had problems, more recent seems pretty good, mine has been great.

From Strykervet:

Why the 9mm instead of the .40?

Quicker follow-up shots.
If you're fast with a .40 on your follow-up shots then you're going to be even faster with a 9mm.

More magazine capacity.
In guns of the same size you will typically get 2 or more additional rounds with the 9mm.

Less felt recoil....especially when firing with only one hand.

Cost of ammo.
In most places 9mm ammo will typically cost less than .40 ammo.

Muzzle-flip.
Lots of folks seem to feel that the .40 creates greater muzzle-flip in most handguns, particularly light-weight polymer framed compact and sub-compact pistols.

And while I agree that the .40 is a slightly more effective caliber than the 9mm, the difference is not enough to outweight the other factors listed above IMO.

To each his own....

Personally, I like the loaded chamber indicator on the SR9c.
Of course I bought the SR9c as a concealed carry weapon, not as a pretty display piece.
