I had that sight installed...(bad eyes these days) and I love the looks of the old school black grips.

So are the Lipseys flat top 44 Specials of high interest because of the smaller (older style) frame?

Absolutely! They feel great in the hand.

One of my favorites, the 10 1/2" Super in stainless. That long barrel really tames the slap and roll of full house .44 mags. Kind of like a single six on steroids. Always a good conversation piece at the shooting range. There's only one downside, you have to wear a pretty large duster if your're gonna CCW this baby.

My 45 Bisley is my favorite then my 45 Vaquero then the Single Six. I had a 327 Blackhawk but it was snorty and I got offered too much for it so it had to go. I'll probably pic up another 327 when/if components and factory ammo are easier to come by. I'm beginning to regret selling it so soon.

First post, but saw this thread while knocking around for info on the .30 Carbine cartridge.

I used to have a Blackhawk Old Model .357 with the ~7" barrel that I used to take on hunting trips. Great gun, but it suffered from my ownership of too many other more-portable wheel guns in the same caliber, so I traded it for a succession of other pistols and revolvers - all of which I've come to regret over the years. Wish I'd kept that old gem...

Currently, I still have my old Single-Six, minus the matched .22 magnum cylinder that was stolen during a break-in at my home a few years ago. I almost never used that cylinder, but it was nice to have, just the same.

My current favorite is my Ruger Vaquero Bisley 4 3/4" .44 mag in polished stainless. It's a bear to shoot with full-power loads, but a sweetheart with the .44 specials I routinely carry in it.

I have no photos of either revolver, so perhaps I should see about remedying that issue...

Bisley Blackhawk Stainless 5.5" .45 Colt/ .45 ACP convertible. Accurate, well-balanced, great sights, superior ergonomics and the option of Wal-Mart plinking ammo or DoubleTap heavy-hitters. The perfect companion for field and range work.

I had my Black Hawk set up with a custom built half cock Super BLack Hawk hammer done by Jimmy Spurs at Cowboy Gunworks along with a mild trigger job. Chambers line up as they should at half cock, and the action is nice and slick with a crisp "carry" type trigger just like I asked for. The gate can be opened before or after it goes to half cock. Jimmy's competition action jobs were flat out amazing IMO. Nice guy as well. I'd like to do some front sight work on this one when I get a few bux up. The Walnut grips are by Carl Shultz.

I once had a bunch of Rugers - mostly SA's. I recall my BHG-converted 4.6" SBH as having the best trigger of the bunch.

My best ever SA triggers can be found in many of my S&W revolvers now - far better - no creep, very light, and consistent. And - when you need to - you can squeeze the trigger for DA shooting!

Still, that SBH I customized was fun - especially with .44 Russians and Specials. Not much of a picture - and, no, I couldn't make the .458 Lott fit...

You want lunch? The 4 on the LEFT are elephant stoppers: 600 grain Barnes solids, at 2150 fps, in .510 Van Horn. Next is a 50-110 we borrowed from a revolver, then .50 Alaskan,and I think the last one is the .500 Linebaugh short.

I do have a single six, but haven't taken pictures...upper right: .458 Lott. Nice warm up for the .510 Van Horn.

I have these, Ruger .45LC NM Vaquero in 5.5 and 7.5 lengths!
