Tried a few boxes in .223 last year. It shot ok, fed well and was as accurate as Wolf, Brown Bear, Silver Bear, etc.
I haven't seen much Golden Bear on the market this year and have only seen a couple of calibers listed online.
All Bear is good ammo. I wouldn't bother paying the extra premium for the "Golden" however, as it all performs the same; bullet choice and powder loadings are the same throughout the Bear family.
Just maybe if you have a rifle that really seems to struggle with the lacquer coated Brown it would be worth a try.
Is that the same group as Golden Tiger? I bought a bunch of it in a different caliber because it was not usually available and supposed to be superior. Who knows with Russians?
I got back from the range a few hours ago and while I was there I shot 60 rounds of golden bear 30 06 and I have to say for range ammo it wasn't bad maybe three ftf's the whole time I was shooting the other ammo I brought was lake city m2 ball and it had 0 problems but at the price of the golden bear it's hard to argue with it for range ammo.
Golden bear is the stuff with a brass wash isn't it? Golden Tiger is ordinary lacquer coated ammo. Either way it is probably the same as all the other Russian ammo rolling off the line.

No....Golden Tiger is lacquer coated and produced at the "Vympel" plant. Its not too bad either but fairly hard to find. Golden Bear is produced at Barnaul and as the poster above says it has a brass wash, so looks like regular brass ammo (although it is just a brass wash over steel).
