Alright guys, about a week ago I got a Marlin Model 60ss with a laminate stock, beautiful gun:) and it shoots EXELLENT thanks to Marlins "Micro Groove Barrel". I also have a GREAT scope on it. Shoots better than any other 22 semi auto iv'e saw.:what:. I love it. I have shot it exactly 111 times, including 41 today, and not one single jam or stovepipe:D. But of coarse it's gonna get a good cleaning today. My only complaint is the fact that it's a tube fed, so it takes a while to load, but that canbe solved with a Spee-D-Loader(http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/GNS120-1.html) which I am getting soon. Also, it gums I have noticed the bolt has gummed up some, but hey, that's what gun oil is for. Sorry, I don't have any pics of my gun :(

Oh and I might also add that the spee d loaders come in several different sizes, holding different amounts of ammo.

since the OP states it ran fine out of box, the oil Marlin shipped it with hasn't created a problem. I keep a thin coating of Rem-Oil on the action and it also runs great. I would never run metal-to-metal parts dry without some lubrication.
Sure keep it clean, and lightly lubed like the owner's manual says

I own three Marlin 60's, including a Stainless 60 SB, and am considered the local Marlin 60 guru. I have found that a good cleaning with Hoppe's #9 and wiping off the excess is all that is needed for lube. Less is more in this case. Anything more will just attract fouling.

Once broken in (couple thousand rounds), My 60's will run through a couple Ferderal bulk 550 boxes before needing cleaning. But generally I clean about every box.

As a side note the Spee-D-loader is a must for anyone with a tube fed rifle, but there is a downside........... Your ammo consumption will triple, but so does the fun.:neener:

My 60 likes to be clean. Break it down and clean it up with Hoppe's. Put a drop of oil on all the pins, a drop on the recoil spring, and a drop or two rubbed onto the bolt-that's all it needs. Use clean ammo like CCI or Fed AutoMatch. Steer clear of Rem, it's filthy.
Glad you like your new rifle, take good care of it.
