Rush Limbaugh goes off on 'Fast and Furious'

Isn't this topic itself old news? Wonder why they're just now commenting on it. The smuggling into Mexico was exposed quite a while back, wasn't it? I wrote a paper on it for school in June...

All the details are still emerging, the BATFE agents in charge got promoted rather than shuffled out of the bureau. Something has to happen here, this could go all the way up to Obama, it sounds like Holder knew about it and lied according to these tapes.

Rush Limbaughs ratings are not on topic.

I think the new news is that a lawmaker today claims that the Inspector General undermined the investigation by releasing the tape recordings and he's stirring it all back up again.

The Obama administration and Hilary Clinton were already talking about the guns "Turning up In Mexico".....remember....?

They were selling U.S. guns to Mexican cartels, so they could claim U.S. guns were driving the violence South of the border; and enact a ban. Likely an assault weapons ban part deux. The dangerous part for them is that they started closing that loop, discussing in public as a begining of the push. Now the scandal is getting closer and closer to the top and it will become clear that they knew all along!

What public official said that? What person in a position to know said the whole point was to push through an AWB? You're assuming. Don't assume, show proof. Just because you think it's possible doesn't mean that was the point...

Well there are only two reasons they would let these guns into Mexico. One is to push for more gun control here (which they tried). The other is to topple the Mexican government (which may also be a goal).

It's amazing how many firearm owners, here and abroad know very little to nothing about project gun runner.

HGUNHNTR - Way to stay on topic.
He's not the only one out there talking about F&F. Something smells with this whole thing otherwise it wouldn't be on virtually every major news organization's plate right now.
Your personal opinion on Limbaugh aside, this is a RKBA issue that every law-abiding gun owner should be paying attention to.

CBS originally covered the story back in FEBRUARY and it has been under discussion for quite a while.

The only thing new today is that Rush seemed to wake up to something that CBS broke months ago and on the 21st presented taped conversations from Lone Wolf owner Andre Howard with ATF agent Hope Macallister who were involved directly.

I'm surprised that anyone is just now getting around to hearing about it.

Rush has discussed this several times over the past few months so it isn't new to him.

It amazes me how many gun lovers still believe this administration is pro gun.
Look people the emperor has no clothes.

Rush gave the basic the story, nothing that hasn't been posted here. The point is that he has an estimated 14 to 20 million listeners a week on 600 stations; in any case, no other radio personality comes close to his numbers of listners and they probably don't frequent gun forums and may not have been exposed to this information before. I don't know how many people will read about Fast and Furious threads on THR but Rush will probably reach a thousand times as many.

Bobson you need to do some searches or start a thread and see how many believe we have a friend in the WH, it will surprise you.

I am shocked at how many anti gun people there are on this post. Probably more of the ilk of Oh bubba and Hell ary. This has been on every major and a lot of small news networks for about 7 months now. It hasn't gone away it wont go away and hopefully it will get all of the upper administration arrested, charged, tried and found guilty of treason. Then executed in disgrace. I know but hope does spring eternal. Frank Uh oh I hear a nock at the door no its just been broken down. Hi ATF

Can't help myself

[Rush Limbaugh is] very pro gun. Was featured speaker at the NRA National Convention some years ago and went into lengthy detail about his first duck hunt once on his show.

Unlike Bubba Clinton, who waxed nostalgic for all those wonderful pre-dawn hours spent in a duck blind with his rifle!!

Of course we have a friend in the WH. He's also a great friend of Israel, a committed admirer and supporter of capitalism, a proponent of racial harmony and a lover of America and its Constitution.

Oh, and let's not forget he's also a brilliant author and public speaker!

Rush has a big audience, no doubt. I listen to him on occasion, mostly to hear what logical fallacies he's using to sway the opinions of people who don't do much original/critical thinking.

I'm glad he's getting the word out about operation "Fast & Furious," but he's not someone who can be taken seriously. He's not exactly what could be considered a "trusted source." (Seems he has a problem with hypocrisy & discerning reality.)

Sometimes he's right, but a stopped clock is right twice a day also. I'm just afraid that people won't believe him on this issue, considering his past statements & their veracity. From what I gather, Rush is like Professional Wrestling; it's great entertainment, but if one starts to believe it's real, the joke's on them.

Rush is just not the guy to put the message out there, many will think it's just more of his same B.S. and won't take it seriously.

Right now, Rush has much more credibility on this topic than almost anything claimed by staff of the Justice Dept. or the ATF.

The question might be what new project will be announced by Justice to distract the mass media, hoping that these new tapes from Lone Wolf won't attract Congressional or other public attention for more than a few days.

The entire Fast and Furious operation was not designed to allow guns to enter Mexico from the US for the purposes of tracing. It was for another reason altogether. The Annointed One and others like him have been saying all along that stricter gun control laws were needed here in the US because our guns were finding their way to Mexico and being used in crime there. This baloney was repeated by MSM on the script provided to them by the administration as well as Mexican government thugs like Calderon, who gave us those kinds of speaches at the UN. Our government wanted those guns to be used in crimes to justify new laws here in the US. Now we have our own law enforcement officers being killed by the publicity stunt and they are busy covering it up. The MSM is more than happy to help their man out. This is a bigger scandal than Watergate. But you won't know it from the way it is handled. For the most part, it has already been downgraded and misrepresented.

...and since duck hunting goes right to the core of the 2A... :scrutiny:

The facts are that there were MULTIPLE operations like F&F going on, one of them involved placing RFID tracking devices into guns and letting them get into Mexico and tracking them with satellites; unfortunately there was no money in the budget for gunsmithing, so the ATF agents folded up the RFID units and concealed them in existing places in the guns (rather than for example, hollowing out the stock or something). The folding damaged the transmitter antennae and reduced the range to less tha na quarter, and the battery life tremendously, and when they tried to track the guns they could not be found. Typical BATFEIEIO tom-foolery, that we pay for.

If he wants to be treated credibly, then he should start acting credibly.

It's more than telling about the state of national discourse that any source that doesn't maintain constant coverage of F&F as part of their platform against the current administration is "helping their man out". What you call the MSM has been covering it. But unlike Fox, they have a duty to cover the other current events that may not be directly applicable to criticism of the admin.

Folks,

Theuseful fact that has come out of Mr. Limbaugh including this in his show is that some people that were not aware of this controversy are now, finally, aware of it. The more people that know the broad nature of what has taken place be better.

It doesn't matter if you're just now learning about this catastrophic failure of the ATF that resulted in the death of an America law enforcement officer from CBS, Fox, CNN, Rush Limbaugh or NPR. What does matter is that more people are aware of it than were before.
