what is your go to gun?

Those "ish" can be particularly pesky especially when fed through a fan. So I would pack my Colt Dragoon with 50 grains of gun powder and a 0.454" ball and let ’er loose on those ish as fast as could fire!

First gun to grab when the fecal material hits the rotating blades for me is my 12ga. Mossberg and a sack of shotgun shells, 00buck and slugs. Second one would be my .45.

If i had to be on the move, my AR15 and CZ SP01. I'd be tempted to take a .45, but the 19+1 capacity of the SP01 makes more sense, especially since 9mm is lighter to carry. I still prefer .45acp for home defense, as weight is not a consideration. If hunkered down in my house, I'd choose my AR15 and FNP45.

Oh lordy Jesus, you guys sound like you are looking for a war. If the stuff manages to contact the fan blades then food, water, shelter, and warmth are going to be ur concerns too.

Well yes, but this is a gun forum and SHTF posts usually get locked pretty quickly around here. Going into those topics you mentioned would only get it closed down sooner.

And I'm probably one of the ones you're talking about as I believe I'm the only one who has mentioned armor... But if I'm ever in a katrina kind of situation, I'm likely going to have it at least available. I have some friends who are on a HAZMAT clean up crew who went down after the storm to help clean up around some of the oil refineries that didn't weather the storm too well. They ended up taking "sniper" fire before the end of the week. (I say "sniper" because the guy was concealed and using a rifle, not that he was particularly skilled with it. I believe there was only one grazing wound of the team members.) I bet anyone actively taking rifle fire would suddenly become pretty accepting of rifle plates.

I've heard several police sources say "wear a vest that will stop a round from your own weapon." Wouldn't it make sense to wear rifle rated armor if you're carrying a rifle?

And just for the record, I also have a first aid kit on my vest. Does that make me a wanna-be medic? :D

I feel that I'm a very creative person... but I didn't really fathom the many different ways of saying the SHTF.

Bravo, gents! And this thread has me wishing I still had that AR15...

Being of limited mobility, having a fully stocked bar and munchies I'll be on the porch. Rocking chair dogs at my feet, JD and Guiness with peanuts on the table. Pop them with the .22. The dogs love to watch them jummping around.

Cheers, ts

FNP-45 in the hand, and my 5" bbl 460 magnum on the hip. That's what I'd use to get to my buddy's house who owns a lot of rifles.

My "go-with" gun is a Berretta 96, which I use to get to my "go-to" gun, which is an Ithaca Model 37 DeerSlayer with a 20" barrel loaded with #4 buckshot, which is then used to get to my "Safe Point" which allows me the AR-10, AR-15's, or AR-50, dependent on activity or need.
But you better have food, water, and other needs taken care of, so you don't have to become a "BG" and steal it from the "sheeple".

What are you grabbing for defense?
Just like for my every day HD, this.

Along with a number of handguns and shotguns.

Actually I've been teaching several female neighbors how to shoot the long guns.
I told them, "If "that day" ever comes, I'll be handing you one of my AR rifles".:)

Got it all covered.
I figure everyone should have that put aside just for natural emergencies.

But of course they don't because they think the government will take care of them.

Probably my IAC piece of trash. http://www.iacshotguns.com/982pump.html I bought it new, on the spur of the moment, as a beater before I found out it's country of origin. Something to throw in the back seat without caring much about cosmetics. Only reason I picked it was it tends to be available when the guns I care about are either locked up or in a case somewhere.

Very dependable, even when dirty and shoots 3" shells. Can load buckshot or slugs in the same tube. Even load flechettes http://www.antipersonnel.net/sdllc/007.html

I'm not looking to reach out and touch someone. Just discourage them from invading my space.

What's on the nightstand changes frequently, and sometimes is in a drawer instead.

What lives in a holster underneath is constant; A S&W 4516-1 stoked with 240 gr. SJHC/1125 FPS .45 Super loads.

If you're talking defense beyond "bump in the night", it's a surefire-equipped Armalite AR-10A2 carbine and a Remington 11-87 Police.

She keeps a Kahr K9 and my M15A2C.

My go to firearm is my FN SLP police & SCAR. My handgun would be my CZ-75. I have a ton of magazines and lots of 9mm defense ammo.

I would be comfortable with any handgun I have in my safe though. I wouldn't keep anything that hasn't been reliable.
