okay,

I know it's been discussed on here; however I'm not finding anything. I have a WASR-10/63 I'm building and I removed the front sight post. I'm using HK416 sights on pic rails front and back and now I need a shroud. I found a few sites that offer them for the saiga 12...but nothing on the AK. I know there aren't many AK's with the front post removed, so maybe not much of a market. Any ideas? I'm not looking for a fake suppressor, I actually wanna cover the barrel upto the gas tube.

I think you'll need something custom. Sturmgewehr did a video with Marc Krebs of Krebs custom Rifles awhile back and they were playing with some really trick AKs. My money is on Krebs coming out with the first commercialy-available 'free float', or at least really accurate barrel shroud, for an AK. That aside, my suggestion in the meantime would be to get a Saiga gas tube and either weld an oval tube to the receiver itself, or modify and bolt an Ultimak tri-tail to the receiver. This isn't an AR, 99% of AK owners are happy with hitting a 12" circle at 150 yards.

I'll keep looking, but maybe try to come up with some ideas on my own. Thanks for the info, I'll update my progress.
