I have carried a 4" N frame chambered for the 45 ACP since the late 70s or early 80s when I built it. I am one of very few that can not come to love the self loading pistol, 1911 or other.

Here is me carrying my XD45 C.

The bunny was a joke, I picked up as a door prize and decided to put it on there. This is for when I go places that kids are around so they don't get skeerd:what:

45 is my caliber if choice i never carry anything but 45. A full size Hk45 as an everyday carry it's easy to dress around with a quality holster, my ttgunleather reenforced mouth iwb works amazing for that purpose. When I can't dress accordingly to take my full size, I have the Hk45c which lets me tuck a shirt in, and because of the slim grip the world will never know it's there.

Sig 220

Sig Sauer P220 is the most comfortable carrying full size 45 out there. I love mine is. I consider it the most accurate and reliable handgun I own.

My carry is a S&W4553TSW (DAO)...very few days a year go by without it. Never shot anything with it but paper...but it always functions.

"What .45 do you shoot other than that 1911???"

"MORE 1911's!"

Seriously though. What else is out there that isn't hopelessly fat? The 1911 may be heavy, but it is thin.

Glock 36 is one heck of a comfortable, thin, lightweight, streamlined, low bore-axis, accurate CC .45acp.

I have carried a 220 or a glock 21 with tac light. But now that I have found my new carry 45. It is a sarsilmaz k2. cz pattern da/sa 14 rds in mag. adjust sights saftey locks slide and hammer when on and lowered, da is around 4-6 sa is 1.5-2

Glock 30SF or a Ruger KP-90; flawless performance for both. And, interestingly enough, empty weights are identical.

Kahr pm45, put about 200 rounds through it and not a single jam. Best impulse buy ever.

Glock 21 Gen4.

It's great with a Ghost trigger. Yes, the grip is large. It also holds 13 rounds in the magazine. If it were a single stack, I'm sure the grip would be about the same width as a 1911 grip. The Gen4 frame solves the problem of the long length from backstrap to trigger--and you have several options for length if you need it.

The SIG P220 is another great platform. The grip is very comfortable, but a bit different than the 1911 grip.

Believe it or not (in a whisper) sometimes I break out the Ruger P90. Seriously, even though it's built like a tank, it's very reliable (Dad had it for ten years, and never field-stripped it, but it still functioned), and quite accurate. I think that the P90 is one of the better buys on the market.
