Ruger Blackhawk in 30 cal carbine. With out a doubt the most accurate handgun I've ever used (not that I've used -that- many, but this guy REALLY surprised me).

i guess the m1 garand
1) i was expecting much more recoil 2) other than sks and mini14 it was first centerfire rifle i had shot at length and the accuracy at 200yards amazed me

Since this is in the handgun forum:

S&W 642, purchased two weeks ago.

Beretta 92, while I have never served in combat, I have never had one jam, refuse to function, or otherwise fail. I have run some really oddball ammo through them, and they have never failed me.

Reading your post, two came to mind. Both Smith's and both revolvers.
First up and oldest is a Model 629 Classic Deluxe w/a 6 1/2 inch barrel. I never shoot this gun that I'm not impressed with it. The other, and most resent is a 686-6 w/a 4inch tube. Though my collection is small, Iv'e had my guns for a very long time. First one was bought in the Summer of 68 and I still have it. I reload and rarely shoot full tilt loads ain any of my firearms.

A S&W 64-3 that dates from the early 80's. 4" heavy barrel. I have owned literally hundreds of pistols and this thing has the smoothest da pull that I've ever seen on a revolver. And a sa pull that breaks like a glass rod at about 2 1/2 lbs. I bought it lightly used and don't know who did the trigger work on it, but I'd love to buy them a beer or two.

I saw it laying in the dealers case for weeks before I finally asked her to take it out for me to play with (more out of boredom than anything else) and after 5 minutes of fondling it I was headed to the car for the checkbook. It's an excellent example of what S&W used to be able to produce........

Of all the hand guns I own, the one that exceeded my expectations in areas of accuracy, enjoyment in shooting, and finish is my S & W 686P with 4" barrel. I can shoot it all day or until I run out of ammo.

The FB Radom Vis P35. Rough finish 1944 model, very accurate, cycles anything. I was and continue to be surprised.

Ruger KP95 (stainless P95).

So far, it's been 100% reliable, with mild recoil and a better trigger than I had expected. Not bad for a low-cost ($350 new, out the door) service 9mm that has everything I wanted (SA/DA and exposed hammer instead of striker-fired, large magazine capacity, fairly light weight) and nothing that I didn't want (no mag safety, no loaded chamber indicator, and no internal lock -- although a long-shank padlock was thoughtfully included).

All my best,
Dirty Bob

Taurus 740 Slim .40S&W. I bought this one to toss in the saddlebag of my bike. Wanted something cheap and compact. I got it and ended up with it being my second favorite carry gun. For some reason this gun just shoots well for me. No problem nailing pop cans at 25yds. At least for the first four or five magazines, after that the recoil seems to get the better of my concentration.

After all the years of shooting from 1967 till now .I am down to a select few SEECAMP 32 ,RUGER SP101 357, SW MP 40 C.The smith is on the choping block for health reasions darn arthurits .

CZ75b. it was my first center fire pistol. None of the others purchased since have been as much bang for the buck, accurate and reliable. It doesn't hurt that it will mount a nifty .22 slide and barrel.

Have any of you guys bought a pistol and been satified 100% in all your criteria for a gun: comfort, accuracy, saftey, reliability?

My RIA exceeded my expectations. The factory ACT mag was junk but from what I've seen even high $$$ 1911 have been known to have that problem. Besides, who owns a semiauto with only one magazine? ;)

X2 I bought it just to carry in the summer and when clothing only allowed this small of a gun. I was supprised how well I like it.

My little 2.5" 66 no dash, I knew it was going to be accurate but wow, this gun out-shoots me for sure.

Metro Arms American Classic II (1911) (I think it might be an RIA) It was $399 and I was amazed at the fit and finish, has a polished throat and the stock magazine is a high polish blued finish that hasn't given me any problems and slides easily in and out. I've put 200 rounds through it so far without a hiccup.
