The photos don't show the "Aimpoint" logo very well. I have emailed the seller and if it is real it is surely sold by now anyway. But in the interim, does it look real?

GREAT price... I just bought it. Thank you!!

JUST KIDDING. I would never do that. However, I strongly urge you to NEVER post a link to what you think might be a very good deal. A full 2/3 of folks admitted in open forum that they'll buy it out from under you. It's better to be ambiguous about its location.

I don't mind if someone else buys it.

I have sent the seller a message and if he goes through the order in which he gets things I should be in the queue ahead of the others. If not, no big deal.

Since there are so many clones out there I am very leery of a good deal. Isn't that sad. But it is true.

I own a real Aimpoint CompM4 and it did not come with those cheesy caps. It came with only a screw in screen filter (dissipator) that goes on the end so that your target cannot determine your location from the light in the unit.

Whatever that one is - it is mounted 90 degrees to the right on a "LaRue" base. The real Aimpoint CompM4 comes on it's own base.

Attached is a picture of mine.

I've got one and it looks real to me although mine didn't come with those flip-up lens caps either.

Here's another picture of the true aimpoint CompM4 manual.
It is not the best picture, but you can at least see how a real aimpoint is mounted on a base.

In other words....the battery tube is supposed to be on the TOP Right not on the Bottom Right. With that one on the BOTTOM Right and and the "Logo" on the bottom left still visible, it SCREAMS FAKE.

That's how it's supposed to mount on a LaRue LT659 mount. And the CompM4 can be purchased from Aimpoint WITHOUT the QRP2 mount. I bought my M4S without and slapped on a LT659.

For cryin' out loud.... You are aware that there are two models of the CompM4, right? That Aimpoint is marked as a CompM4s. The "s" denotes that the battery compartment is on the lower right as opposed to the upper right.

OP- if you have any questions, contact Aimpoint and give them the Serial number and they can verify if it's real or not.

Do some more study I found that there are fake Larue mounts as well.

I am starting to worry that my rifle might be a fake too! :what:

My 5.56 came with a bunch of ammo:

:what:

Just kidding about the ammo, but really, just search for fake Larue mounts!
This has to stop. It is eroding consumer confidence and hurting used sales.
