Not listed under their usual "ammo" options at the website; not listed uner new products; no details (bullet type--except for the name "Z-Max", fps, etc.) available.

Seems to me like a leg pull.

Obviously, it's a halloween prank.

I am waiting for the next wave of these specialty ammo...

Silver bullets, for the Loup Garou that wont take no for an answer
Wooden bullets, for the Vamp that wants you on the menu
Fire bullets, in case Dr Frankenstein decides to make a new pal
Sage bullets , for those troubled by pesky ghosts.

We would, of course need shotgun rounds, in .410, 20ga, 12ga, 16ga, 10ga for each of these purposes..

I also can think of many other variants... one of the big ammo manufacturers should hire me to do R&D

Joke or not, they SHOULD sell it.

ALOT of people would buy a box just as a novelty.

I'm genuinely upset if its a joke. I was ready to buy some.

And here I was wondering what would be the best load for zombies. Thanks for finally answering that for me Hornady.

Sort of looks like a yellow FTX and V-max. I'm sure it will work, Hornady tests everything they sell thoroughly. I'm sure they tested it on at least a few zombies.

I'm thinking joke, but if not I'm thinking expensive. If not a joke I'm thinking I'll buy one box to keep on the mantel for a conversation starter. My zombie ammo is a stash of crappy 5.56 NATO and a few .50 cal ammo cans full of Herter's .223.

It's real folks. I just called Hornady Manufacturing and spoke to "Cathy" ( Phone: 1-800-338-3220)
in the sales department. This idea came from Steve Hornady as he is apparently a fan of these things.

We had a good laugh because I told her that there was so much speculation about whether or not this was real. In addition, she told me that demand has been extremely high these last couple of days with requests from distributors skyrocketing.

I also refered her to this thread, so hopefully we may hear from them.

So..yep, I'm going to ge me a box!

Most of the zombies I worry about are cowboys. Pity there's no .45 Colt.

And for those who remember the original Night of the Living Dead, it's terrible they don't have .30-30!

Next time zombie movies are out and vampire movies are back in, I wonder if we'll be seeing the "UV bullets" from Underworld or Blade or whatever it was.

I'm totally down for a few boxes for the novelty factor and I hardly ever buy factory ammo.

Might even pick some up for my brother (he has 15k 223 in his house, but none are actual zombie bullets). LOL

ZMAX - Very cool name for a Halloween gag. They should market that product but without the zombie gag.

This plus a can of tactical bacon would be an awesome gift pack for any zombie shelter owner.

If it were up to me I'd coat the jackets to look like candy corn.

Silly, but if it gets them more sales, they are clearly willing to geek.

I'm going to get a box of 9mm and 12 gauge, just for the boxes and hulls. It'll make a nice decoration / conversation piece.
