If she made the call for wood and blue, then make it wood and blue, Diamond earrings and a Nice dinner wouldnt be nearly as much fun for you to shop for :p

Personally id go with either an A-bolt Medalion, or a BAR Safari grade (maybe out of your budget). The styling cues on brownings seem to hit home with the women ive talked to.

M1A Scout or AR-15 with wood furniture, then slap on a pink ribbon somewhere. That way, you win too! :D

Winchester M70 Super Grade has the shiniest bluing I have seen.

Ruger #1
CZ 550
Browning A-Bolt
Browning B78

all good suggestions also

if your misses wants a rifle thats "pretty" take a look at a remington model 700. They have very nicely blued and are set in a really "pretty" wood grain stock with a slick finish. Not to mention the detailed checkering. Look around you may find it and a fair optic for aruond what you want to spend- Redneck

Of the ones you listed I would go with the Winchester Super Grade. An older used rifle might be an option. This is my wife's new rifle.A Sako Forester Deluxe in 243 from 1969.I gave under $1000.

pretty is in the eye of the beholder but i have the 700 in -06 it is cappable of 1/2" 3 shot groups @ 100 yds. Now i don't know what you or the lil lady calls "pretty" but that looks nice to me...-Redneck

A Browning BAR Safari would just hit at the upper limit of the price range and personally I think it would be tough to find a better looking rifle. Caliber wasn't mentioned but the BAR Safari is available in .243 up to .338.

IMHO, they don't come any prettier than Marlin's 336XLR. This one is a 35 Rem which they don't make any more but take a look at the others.

Of those you listed I don't see how you can go wrong with a Browning X-Bolt Medallion. If I thought she could handle a .375 H&H Mag I'd offer to sell you mine that's still NIB. :)

They might be a bit hard to find but Ruger made a High Grade MKII a few years ago. They had extra high polish blue and Circassian/Turkish walnut stocks with an ebony forend cap. Mine pictured here is chambered in the classic 270 Win. The fit and finish rival any high end rifle and was well below a grand.

Here are a few pics with various light conditions to give an idea.

Restock the 110 with a wood or nice laminate stock and refinish the metal. Or try and find a nice Savage 99. To me those are pretty
