Attended a small/local gun show in Council Grove Kansas, yesterday. Sometimes I go for the guns and sometimes for the peoples. I don't know how it is on the east or west coasts at gun shows, but here, you'll see:

a) Two guys dressed to the nines in vintage Western gear, including the spurs and the revolvers strapped to their legs. I assume the spurs are to speed up their old pickups.

b) About 10 or 15 guys at any given time who all look like they just are reentering civilization after a long time away in the Unabomber's cabin.

c) One of the above spouting the myth of George Soros buying up all the gun manufacturers "and now the ammo makes too" to the wife half of a husband/wife sales team. She turned it right around and sold him a bunch of rifle ammo.

d) While browsing the Mosin booth, a guy beside me told me he had one of them...a sniper...that he took off a gook in Vietnam who had killed his corporal. ...used a Tommy gun to show him out of the tree. Did they issue Tommy Guns in Vietnam? The guy was using a cane so I gave him the benefit of doubt, but I still wondered.

e) No jerky booths or Nazi memorabilia.

All in all, a good time had by all.

No mystery jerky or Nazi schwag!?!?

What about flimsy Chinese knives, framed bald eagle lithographs, t-shirts with wolves printed on them, irregular sized trucker hats, confederate flag stickers, poorly stitched nylon accessories, OEM magazines priced over MSRP, rodeo belt buckles, reloaded ammo of unknown quality, ethnic stereotype paper targets or rusty surplus rifles?

Doesn't sound much like a gunshow to me.

LOL

Most of the time the people watching is the most redeeming part of the admission price.

I was especially entertained by one very well built female in a way to tight tank top, micro-mini skirt and knee high boots with at least 3" spiked heals. And a black web belt with a drop-leg holster holding a 1911. She had to be well over 50. That was 5 years ago and I still can't get that picture out of my head.

That's one of the things I like so much about going to the Knob Creek shoot. In addition to the firepower and target destruction going on, the massive amounts/variety of merchandise and the sheer number and variety of people is staggering.
Wanna make a better-than-average Knob Creek home video? Change the proportion of gunfire from 100% to about 40% gunfire, and 60% people on the firing line and general attendees.

Went to a gun show this past weekend.
I was looking at a Barrett at one of the booths and a conversation somehow started with a very petite girl in her early 20's.
"I shot one of those once" she said, "It kicked so hard I thought my brains were going to come out my nose." People at gun shows are interesting alright.

I went to my first gunshow since moving South. I was surprised to see probably 30% women rather than 5%. Otherwise same old crap with different people manning the tables and slightly poorer selection- Greenville SC was supposed to be a really good show according to natives, but I'd say it was only on par with Big E or Syracuse NY.

Reminds me of a ZZ Top concert that I once attended. Similar scenario except that the woman appeared to be closer to 90 and was attired in a string bikini with a keychain hanging off one side of the bottom and a pack of cigarettes and a lighter tucked into the other side.

What has been seen cannot be unseen!

When the house lights were turned up all the way at a dark and smoky club I used to hang out at in Stamford, CT way back when, we'd get a better look at the other folks attending.
"What darkness, conceals" I'd begin. "Light reveals."
