I could have put a more elaborate design on it (especially the barrel)...and sharpened the lines up, but I wasn't trying very hard.
Just for fun!

I might add to it when the mood hits me.

Just added a vertical line between the barrel wedge and the loading lever screw to take up that blob of negative space. Funny what masking tape and some BC Super Blue can do.
Can't wait to take it to the range.

I don't think so.
Once I break the thing will I actually modify it. It's still a great shooter.

well that's just your opinion. in my opinion Remingtons are prettier than Colts, I've got many people that say otherwise, although i must say the 1873 and the 1860 Army are some darn good looking guns. maybe it's the fact that my favorite handgun in the entire world, cartridge or otherwise is the 1858 Remington. heck, everybody has an opinion.

That is blasphemy!

That is what I thought too. But then on further reflection....

What people do to their own weapons is completely their own choice.

Which I agree with it its entirety. Pyro's gun, pyro's taste. Who am I to say otherwise? However, like Cult of 1858 said,

OMG I think I went blind!

Well, while this thread is a lot of fun I sincerely hope it does not become a trend.

The responses were expected. :D
I don't care much for this gun (as you can see), it's a cheap Cabelas black powder with no historical value. If it was a .36 caliber I would have shuddered at the idea of doing this.

it kinda makes me think of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" with the spiral on the cylinder. they made a movie based on the book, if Mr. Wonka was packing heat he'd probably have something that looks like this.
and it shoots ever-chew gumballs into your mouth.

you probably need to use molasses over the chambers to prevent chain firing! haha!

you know i have toyed with the idea of getting one of the 1851 Colts and doing a real classy plating job on it, maybe gold plate the cylinder, nickle plate the frame, polish it real well, maybe see if i can get some faux ivory grips, getting to that may take me a long time but it would be pretty cool to do that someday, especially with the short barreled version.
