Sen. Feinstein: Lax gun control is real ‘problem’ with Fast and Furious

Published: 2:24 PM 11/01/2011 | Updated: 2:27 PM 11/01/2011

Democratic California Sen. Dianne Feinstein told a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing that lax gun control laws, not Obama administration malfeasance within the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATF), was the real problem uncovered by Operation Fast and Furious.

My concern, Mr. Chairman, is there’s been a lot said about Fast and Furious, and perhaps mistakes were made, but I think this hunt for blame doesn’t really speak about the problem,” Feinstein said during the Tuesday hearing. “And the problem is, anybody can walk in and buy anything, .50-caliber weapons, sniper weapons, buy them in large amounts, and send them down to Mexico. So, the question really becomes, what do we do about this?”

What do we do about it??
Vote her and her like minded running dogs out.

What a moron.

Truth be told, the first thing I thought after reading that was:

I can't believe there are people in this country who are paid (and paid pretty well) to turn their opinions into laws, and I'm not one of them.

Ms Diane needs to get primaried badly.
It'll never happen, she's too well heeled and too entrenched with the monied elite. Her disconnect with reality is beyond stunning, and always has been.

I blame californians. Ms. Feinstein can't die of old age fast enough for me - that's the only way she'll ever get removed from office. But like Byrd, she'll probably live forever... :banghead:

And the problem is, anybody can walk in and buy anything, .50-caliber weapons, sniper weapons, buy them in large amounts, and send them down to Mexico.

Sure.. anyone who gets $71,000 from the FBI to buy weapons and then gets the same FBI to scrub the names of their buyers from the prohibited persons list on NICS can walk right in and buy $71,000 worth of firearms and send them to Mexico. Provided of course that the ATF leans on the FFL to continue making the sales after the FFL reported them to the agency that was SUPPOSED to prevent such mayhem.

So clearly, it is a problem that can only be solved by regulating such weapons out of the hands of normal, law-abiding citizens. The only other way I can see to do it would be to stop subsidizing drug cartel's purchase of firearms and then greasing the skids to avoid the regulations that block such a purchase, and clearly that is just a crazy idea.

Yes, we do need more gun laws. These new laws ought to make it a felony for federal agents to be reckless with guns under their control during sting operations and other investigations, and also make the agents culpable if persons are harmed as a result of those weapons falling into the wrong hands.

Isn't Feinstein the one who had herself listed as a air marshal so that she could be armed on airplanes?

That woman is a real piece of work. The only way she leaves the Senate is Ted Kennedy style... feet first.

I can't even come up with any reasonably intelligent words to describe that tool, or the way her mind functions.

NOTE: I was going to say " the way her mind WORKS", but obviously it doesn't.

The problem is there are those who will support and believe her.

The people who vote her in time after time are not the least interested in guns. She's a free bread & circuses uber-liberal politician in Kalifornistan.

'nuff said...

I could maybe have some respect for her and Rosie O'Doughnut's beliefs if they practiced what they preached. IIRC, Feinswine has a CCW and Rosie has armed guards protecting her and her family. What a bunch of twofaced Bull.

We have a winner!

We don't need new laws---we just need to enforce the ones we already have--all these dirty cops should be spending a minimum 10 years in the federal pen----all the way up the line including the traitor n chief.
