2) It's zinc alloy and so would be quite rust resistant in a steamy bathroom.

I think you should reconsider this point, in particular. Zinc is chosen for cathodic protection in wet environments to prevent corrosion of more valuable metals. I.e., the zinc will corrode prior to steel, such as would be found in the barrel, magazine, and other various parts of the handgun. You'd be far better served getting a nitride coated gun or a stainless gun.

If the goon-patrol wouldn't even give you time to shower :uhoh: ... then if it were me :scrutiny: I'd stock up on Old Spice and stick to taking BSA-baths, hose off outside, or move to another part of town

How do you sleep at night

Me Likes the assault shower-head :D

OOO OOOO OOOOO just fill a 1911 squirt gun with Glacial Acetic Acid

You have to bring a second gun if the first one only shoots blanks.:what::)

Remember, you have to carry enough gun and one should already Hi-point it. That's what she said.

Beware of the bathtub ringleaders, but they can be wiped out.

Have two shower heads. One is for water and the other is .45ACP! Have a water proof remote controller for it.

Mini-guns will not get the job done.

Any firearm you keep in the shower is a water gun.

Use a Cobra derringer in the tub. It's made of the same stuff the Hi-point is. Who'd suspect a snake in the shower?

Keep a dachshund in the bathroom with you and SIG him on anyone that comes in.

Don't take a 1911 in the tub with you or you'll get COLT!

Any gun taken into the bathroom needs to be taken Kahr of so it won't rust.

Make mine a lever action rifle. Marlin on this later.

Keep you powder and balls dry.

These quotes are from that great ancient Chinese phlilosopher Confusion. :):what:

Bet he wished he brought a gun in the bathroom.

I love those shower curtains. She has several other gun ones available. One of these days I might have to commission one.

On a semi-serious note, the 12-gauge shotgun is the usual home defense solution. If you're concerned about rust from a steamy bathroom, one of the marine models - say a Mossberg 500 Mariner - would solve that problem.

i find it quite comfy to shower with a rubber shoulder rig on.

Depending on which hand holds the soap i can reach for one of the
two Glock20s in the rig.
I feel pretty secure this way.

Of course i carry a NewYork reload in my buttcrack.

( luvely thread. But seriously .. secure your doors and windows, and shower in peace :) )

I would think, in a gallon-size Zip-Loc bag, with a bit of practice, one could fire a pistol from within the bag, without even opening the bag~

Sometimes I think that my bedside gun could be under the covers and I could appear to be asleep, then, well, you can visualize the rest as the BG enters the bedroom!

A Hi Point would be ideal for the situation IMO for the reasons you already stated. A zamak gun is pretty rust resistant and if you fire it a couple hundred rounds to break it in it will most likely be reliable. I will admit that quite a few times my Raven (mine is very reliable) has accompanied me all over the place even into the bathroom during showers. I normally carry something around the house in my pocket even if it is a little .22 revolver.

I'm not paranoid but home invasions are somewhat common in my area and even if I'm armed with a pea shooter I'm better off than if I'm fighting hand to hand naked while wet. (Though I'm sure there aren't too many people willing to attack a 250 lb wet naked guy.) Lmfao.

I carry from when I get dressed in the morning to when I get undressed at night (then "she" goes on the nightstand next to the bed), as well as my Mossberg 500 Tactical real close by...

When in the bathroom either sittin down or in the shower, my sidearm (either XD -40 of Glock 27sc Gen. 4) is always within reach. When in the shower "she" is covered with a dry towel... I also clean and lube her ( ) regularly to eliminate any concerns of rust....

Another option not mentioned would be one of the best alert / priliminary defence systems available... a good dog....

Off topic (sorry)... As the new WI C.C. law now allows carry in a boat and I am an avid boater / fisherman, I have consider the above for when out in the boat. I also have a life jacket designed for a small dog that I can put my (cased) firearm in to keep her afloat if worst comes to worst...

Just get one of those door stop/ alarms the NRA sells on their storefront and put it on the front door, or whatever door is closest to your bathroom. (Keep your weapon nearbye, but not necessarily in the bathroom itself.

I personally very much appreciate all the humor on this thread, but I must add that it makes sense that home invaders would break-in while the owner is in the shower. In cold weather, it is obvious from outside the house when somebody is in the shower because of the condensing water vapor around where the exhaust fan exits.

Gees, talk about creating complex solutions to what is an extremely simple problem! The XDM that I carry all day, every day is the same one in the bathroom with me when I shower, I just plop it down on the washing machine when I undress. The salt in my sweat is far more corrosive than pristine clean steam but yet I manage to carry it everyday in an IWB holster without it turning into a rusting hunk of steel.

Being in the shower is being in the home. Plenty of home invasions are known to happen. It would seem the only time a person is more vulnerable than in the shower would be when someone is asleep.
Being naked with a gun, (YES...A GUN)... in my hand..just doesn't seem right! I guess I've lived in the suberbs too long.

I have put my pistols in gallon ziploc bags and if you leave a little air in there it is easy to fire the pistol, not to mention that it will float because of the air you left inside!

I wish IDPA would create a shower stage to test out some of these scenarios.

Have to get dressed before you leave the bathroom too for ultimate realism! :D
Just kidding.

keep one thing in mind, all ye humorists ; everyone ever killed or injured in a burglery or home invasion was NOT prepared !
