What kind of lever actions do yall recommend for hunting in thick woods?
I like a Marlin 1895 .45-70Govt. with a low magnification scope or quality aperture sight (or better yet the combination of the two with QR rings). The .30-30WCF will do just fine, and is certainly a better choice for anyone recoil sensitive, but I like the old punkin' chunker better. What kind of lever actions do yall recommend for hunting in thick woods?
I'm tripping over 'em at the gunshops that I frequent. How hard is it to find a winchester 94?
Plus one on the Marlin. Also take a look at XS Ghost Ring Sights!R.W.Dale said:Buy the cheapest used Marlin 336 you can find and three or four boxes of ammunition to practice with.
Resist the urge to scope it and instead slap a Williams WGRS sight on the reciever and go to town
