I am looking for cheap Colt/Metalform style AR 9mm magazines. I've read reviews of other makes and most say that Colt/Metalform ones are the best. However, I refuse to believe that another manufacturer cannot make magazines that are just as reliable as the Colt/Metalforms for half the price as it is nothing more than a metal box with a spring in it.

So, where can I find reasonably priced, but reliable and last round hold-open, magazines for my AR 9mm? I've seen some C-products magazines that are a good price. However, I've heard that their reliability is questionable, but I think that this was only the case in their original magazines and their newer ones are good. Please shed some light on this matter and offer your recommendations. Thank you!

The C-Products mags work just fine in my RRA 9MM AR. Those and modded UZI mags are what I run. You may have to adjust your mag block a hair.

CP mags did not run 100% in my RRA 9mm, especially with shorter HP bullets. Colt mags have longer feed lips to help feeding, just like my favorite, Uzi mags have. Id go with Uzi mags, but you want hold open on empty, so scratch that. I converted some Uzi mags myself, and they all ran 100%, which was more important to me than hold open. CP supposedly makes mag for Colt now, but thats just internet hearsay.

AIM Surplus was selling the C-Products mags for ~$12 a while back, might see if they've got any left.

They've worked fine in my RRA 9mm AR, I like the bolt hold open feature.

Thanks for the replies thus far. Does anyone else have any experience with various magazine makers? I just don't want to have to invest money into bad magazines or pay more for magazines when I don't have to so any input is appreciated. Thank you!

Try CDNN they have the metal forms in 32 or 20 occassionally sells out quick. They seem to have a better follower than the early c products easier if running hp's vs fmj.
ps mag loader a needed item for all to load easy.
